Even though physician-assisted suicide does not exist, the notion of physician assisting patients to die does exist in hospitals today. The cost of health care and the financial burden it costs to allow a terminally ill patient who are slowly decaying in a life expectancy of six months or less is high. If the patient is going to die in a short amount of time and is suffering through unbearable pain, where evidence was shown, there are certain guidelines to follow up to an assisted suicide. It gives the elderly and the terminally ill patients their individualistic choice to die. |
