Schneidem�hl (Pila), Posen province: The town suffered from repeated conflagrations; the one in 1626 was started at the house of the Jew Joachim, laying the entire town to waste; as a result, a new survey was made, and new building regulations followed. It also prompted Queen Constantia, wife of Zigismund III, to place the residences of the Jews in new locations<>.
