| Aaron Simmons Born circa 1780 Died in London 1834 |
| AARON SIMMONS (ISAIAH/JESSIE the Hatter1) was born about 1780, and died about August 1834 in London, England. He married (1) Julia (Yetlah) "Judith" Harris, daughter of Isaac (Fishman) Harris. She died before 1821 in London, England. He married (2) Hannah Hendela Myers on the 24th October 1821 in Great Synagogue, London, England. She was born about 1790, and died about 1838.
Aaron Simmons (as spelt in his will) became a wealthy businessman in Whitechapel, London, England.. He is first recorded as a hatter, with his own business in Petticoat Lane in 1814. By 1819 he had become the proprietor of The Black Lion, a public house selling liquor. In 1828 he had a second business in Monmouth Street, dealing in clothes. By 1830 he has added a bakery to his group of businesses. When he writes his will (probably knowing he only has a few months to live), he has the sum of two hundred pounds available to be set aside for his infant children. He has children with his first wife, Julia Harris, and after she dies he marries Hannah Hendela Myers on the 24 October 1821 . It is Hannah who takes over the running of The Black Lion (see Pigot 1836) probably after Aaron has died.
