Gentle Strong Woman

Gentle woman
you touched me
with your eyes.
You caressed me
with such an endless
stare
it made me afraid -
but so happy,
so priviledged
to be looking into
your eyes...
those clear
gentle
green-brown eyes.

It touched me so
that the space that
separated us
seemed to disappear -
your gentle eyes
held me close...
made love to me
so warm and beautiful.

Mine were afraid and
looked away.
Afraid because they couldn't share
that closeness ~
there was just too much
and they would cry
out of frustration.

I would cry inside instead ~
so you wouldn't see
my love
and be
frightened away.
