Summery: In a time long ago demons and humans lived together in peace on a world called Shangraila. However, this peace is interrupted when demons begin to go berserk by a band of demons wishing to resurrect an evil demon known as Gyumaoh. Using the forbidden arts of dark magic combined with science, the former lover of Gyumaoh, Gyukumen Koushu, seeks to gain all of the sacred scrolls to resurrect her beloved. Standing in her way are four men sent on behalf of the merciful goddess. Among them is Genjo Sanzo, a keeper of one of the scrolls; Sha Gojyo, a perverted water sprite, Cho Hakkai, a sypathetic gentle demon; and Son Goku, the pet of Genjo Sanzo. The demons among them remain untouched from the evil mist that causes the berserking of demons because of thier powerlimiters. However, sometimes Sanzo doubts how loyal they will be. The four men of the Sanzo Party travel west to India where Gyukumen Koushu is to stop her once and for all.
Personal Comments: The best part of this anime is definantly the comidy. As the series progresses the four members of the Sanzo party reviel piece by piece thier tragic past. Sometimes to much though. It may also be pointed out that those who aren't really bishonen fans will not particulary enjoy this series. It is not action packed though it does have some nice fights but over all it focuses more on the characters than the situation at hand. The animation is pretty detailed and unique. As for music, this series has good opening and ending songs and maybe one or two good image songs but over all the music is not wonderful. Sometimes it is just stupid but usually you are to concerned with watching the episode than lisiton to the music.
