i was really thinking "wow" when you talked about your symptoms, and how as a kid all the doctors said there was nothing wrong.... this is exactly what we went through as a kid. at the time, it was for pain in the knees and knuckles (especially knuckles.... the pain was excruciating for the kids). went to lots of docs they said they couldn't figure it out, maybe arthritis. but it was too inconsistent.

now as adults we don't have those pains - the adults suffer from serious lower back and neck pain. at one time we could mark the end of every semester by the paralysis that would ensue - we were unable to walk due to a pinched nerve - and it happened every time we had five minutes to fall apart. the kids still have bouts of pain in their hands and knees - but only the kids (sometimes we can tell when they've been out by the dull ache in our fingers).

i think we express our emotional pain through our body, and there are reasons why we unconsciously choose which parts express the pain. i think our body will make an injury to express the pain we have inside. but that's just my theory for us - for you, it might be that your old injury is causing more trouble than anyone anticipated (savi was right about that too, docs make mistakes all the time).

i'll stop babbling now. i just wanted to say i understand. and i understand about being scared to go to the doc, in case he figures something out that you don't want anyone to know. we gotta go see a gyn this week, and we don't want her to see our internal scars :( but it's important to at least try to take care of the body. it's all we've got.
