Born into a troubled family with an elven mother and a human man she called father, Lys' childhood was troubled at times. The man was a mage, and conducted magical experimentation on her, taking an otherwise unmagical elven girl and inadvertantly making her into an embittered mage. Escaping from her father's control, and only barely surviving the destruction of her village Aurynsvale, she roamed the realm of her birth, angry, lonely violent and resentful. After being rescued from the clutches of the drow, she formed a somewhat unwilling and slow friendship with the members of an adventuring party who rescued her. While most went their own ways, she is still close to the man she considers to have restored her soul, Tenji of Mattvaria, whose family name is known but to her and few others. The last of her truly bitter nature was washed away through the patient and unwavering love of the man she came to marry, known only as The Cush. After the violent destruction of several of their homes, she finally came to live in the keep Cush called his own, along with their young daughter Azalyn Cush, and their infant son Keiorm. Although the mists of Avalon whisked them away in their sleep, they remain together, finding strength in the togetherness Lys never had as a child.
