Tracy Lawrence - Lessons Learned
I was 10 years old the day I got caught
With some dime-store candy that I never bought
I moved my head and I faced the wall
Daddy showed wrong from right
He said this hurts me more than it does you
There's just some things son that you just don't do
If anything saying, hit and bruised
Daddy I can say a life
1-Oh oh lessons learned and they sure run deep
They don't go away and they don't come cheap
Oh there is no way around it
This won't turn
Oh lessons learned
Then daddy was the man I loved
He bought me my first golden glove
Even though we had the brightest stroke
Circled in that ol' town square
Spoke aloud with a slow Southern brawl
I never heard it 'cause I knew it all
I sure listen when I got the call
And he was no longer there
(repeat 1, 1)
