Artifact Vision

Let the wind hear, I am wanting truth!

Let the night be warned, I am awakened!

In the morning where the light of the sun subsides with the breath of knowledge...
In a room of darkness where the day can not be noticed,
I am tired, weary, sick.

I'm waiting for illumination in the half glow of the past, like a child unwilling to venture into the unknown.
All the while, the hours roll on with wheels of steel, and time flies by my world with a fury on wings of wonder and ignorance.

And as if in a spell of eternal sleep, I have been walking unconsciously through idleness.
And the dreaming I do is a damned effort wasted - tossed aside and forgotten! Given to the gulls!

Until the black hole that exists in the madness of the mind swallows up
thoughts whole, raw, and with powerful force! And with the jaw of a creature unimaginable!
Beyond monsters of the water deep or animals of ancient legends!
And when the chaos of such gravity crashes into the weight of my conscience, it is a collision of devastation!

I wake up briefly, as if in the middle of an operation,
witnessing the state of my insides with clarity.
And without willingness, I see the heart of the matter. It is no longer
confused with the shading of a drawing. The picture comes clear!

Standing by the ocean, on the shores of doubt, I am facing the breaking tides
with the brisk wind against my stance. The moon beams with radiance and the
air is filled with a sensuality that seeps into the soul...
like the juices of love.

But this scene is only visible for seconds
before the curtain closes once again.
Leaving the painter, the poet, the actor and the fool
powerless to perceive...
his vision.
