May 8th 2002Nya is a biegh fox fancy mouse, she is about 1.4 years old and was originaly from Toronto, Onatario where she was rescued. Nya has been battling cancer for a while, her first one turned up as a small bearly noticable lump and within 4 weeks she has several large growths, you can't see it well in these photos but she has the start of a small lump at the back of her neck.
[left] Nya's left side, large tumor is visible, this it the first one she got and is actually 2 or 3 growths side by side, this one is about the size of a lage marble, it's located on her upper leg, near her hip and close to her mammary glads, so is thought to be another mammery tumor.
[right] Nya's right side, cancer on belly near mammary gland, this is the tumor 1 week after I first discovered it, at first you couldn't really see it but could feel a lump, not it's rather large a visible. This one has started to effect her abilty to walk, which is sad as it means that soon she will have to be humanely put down soon.
Here she is trying to groom and you can see the 2 tumors fairly well. She has also been battling an upper respertory infections for a while which she was on medications for, while it when away totaly for some time it's returned. She sarted her medtication after the cancer showed up.

Here is a top and bottom shot I took, the top on didn't turn out well and makes the tumor look smaller then it is, you can see both growths clearly in the underside shot though. She also as a small lump starting on the back of her neck, which is not visible in the photo, I can see it but to be sure one has to pet her as it's not very big at this point.
This is Meeka a PEW mouse, Nya's unrelated cage mate who is about the same age.
