Gabrion May Testify Friday
Grand Rapids- The suspect in West Michigan's first death penalty case may testify in his own behalf
Friday. Marvin Gabrion wants to take the witness stand. He's accused of murdering Rachel Timmerman
in 1997. Prosecutors say he did it because Timmerman accused him of rape.
Thursday, the prosecution wrapped up its case by focusing on evidence, including the cinder blocks that were
tied to Timmerman's body. Similar blocks were found at Gabrion's home. An FBI agent also testified about
arresting Gabrion in New York.
The defense is expected to begin its case Friday. If convicted, Gabrion could be sentenced to death, because
the death allegedly occurred on federal land
