| THE MISSING LINK search started February 20, 2002, with a 54 year old picture found in a box of photos with the address on the backside and the question, "who is this, Dad?" I'm sure that question, along with who is, where is and what happened too, remain un-answered to many people in life but more so with those associated with the Fun Loving Military Police of Dog Company; who later became the Men of Company M sent to Korea for a little Police Action. My daughter Lynn, determined to help me out, searched the internet and supplied me with the location of the person in the photo the very next day, along with a web site for the 24th Infantry Division, and a message for me to review the site. (Great Web Site by the way!) While reading the daily report, I found a little sister looking for any information about her big brother Donovan E. Carter. The Company was right, Company M, and the name sounded familiar. thru a Holiday menu of 1949 verified the name. We were Gimlets together! Little Sis, who began her search April 2001, finally had some history and pictures of a brother missing in her life. Little Sis had a link to Jack Higdon, a survivor of Company M, along with his E-mail address. And, with that contact, A Missing Link was found, someone who could fill in needed answers to questions. Now, ............my search continues.........Just WHAT the HELL HAPPENED to Company M and all my friends....? (To be Continued). |
