Paso & Rocky GAITING

Saturday & Sunday, August 18 & 19, 2007

This summer’s gaited horse clinic features Lynn Gallup of Gracewood Farm Paso Finos www.gracewoodpasos.com in North Carolina. This will be Lynn’s first trip to Alaska, and we welcome her to the Great Land. Lynn is a senior Paso Fino judge and long-time breeder and trainer of Paso Finos. She has judged at numerous Paso Fino competitions, including twice at Paso Fino Nationals. She is also a senior certified Rocky Mountain Horse judge and will be judging at the Rocky Mountain Horse Internationals this September.

We will be at Diane & Bill Sullivan’s beautiful horse facility, Stable Minds Ranch, in Chugiak. Although Lynn’s expertise is primarily with Paso Finos and Mountain Horses, she is an experienced horse woman that has worked with a number of gaited breeds. Paso Finos and Mountain horses will have a priority at this clinic; however, we may be able to take other gaited horses, depending on their needs. If you don’t ride in the clinic, we encourage you to audit. There is always more to be learned with our gaited horses.

Lynn’s focus is on the gaited pleasure horse for trail and versatility. I attended Lynn’s clinic in Eugene, OR in July organized by my daughter, Jerri, Gaited Horsemanship Clinic, and it was a wonderful experience. We had mostly Paso Finos and one Mountain Horse. Lynn is patient and practical and encouraging. She also provides resource information at her clinics and takes a holistic approach to analyzing both the horse and rider.

Notice is short on this clinic because we invited Lynn to come to AK at the last minute, and she wanted to come and had an opening. Good for all of us!
