Red Spirit

This tutorial was done in PSP 9 but can be done in PSP8.

Supplies here (Tube, mask, brush, and font)

Filters: MuRa’s Seamless Emboss at Alpha.

Make a new 500x500 canvas and flood fill white. Add a new raster layer and choose a color from your tube or the color I used is #7c170c, flood fill your canvas. Go to Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask From Disk and apply the 203-kris mask with these settings: Source luminance checked, Fit to canvas checked, Show all mask checked hit ok. Delete the mask layer and click yes when asked. Go to layers, merge, merge group.

Go to Effects, Plig ins, MuRa’s Seamless, Emboss at Alpha and apply the default settings twice.

Select you magic wand with these settings:

Select the parts of the background as shown and add a new raster layer.

Select your wlj04tilz 002 brush and adjust the size to 255 and have your color set to white and click the brush in the selected tiles a few times or until you get the effect you like. Go to Selections, Select none, then go to Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and apply these settings:

Go to Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Copy your tube and paste as new layer, use your mover tool to adjust your tube to where you want it to be. Duplicate your tube layer, go to Image and Mirror your tube. Lower the opacity of the mirrored tube to 40 and change the blend mode to Luminance. Apply a drop shadow to your tube using the same settings as before but change the blur to 32.00 hit ok.

Click on your merged layer and use your magic wand and click on a white part of the background. Click on your mirrored tube with the selection still selected and hit delete. This will take the rest of the tube away from the white area of the background. Go to Selections, Select None and your image will look like this:

For the font I used Blake, but you can use any font that you like. Set your background color to #7c170c and set your foreground color to white. Depending on your name you will need to adjust the size of the font. Create as vector and convert to raster layer. Use the first drop shadow settings, with the blur at 1 and change the color to white. Duplicate your font layer and go to Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, rotate left or right (depending on the look you want) at 90 degrees. TIP: If your name is to long for the rotated name or to tall if your name is short, just use your mover tool to adjust as needed. Use my tag as a reference as needed. Merge all layers.

Go to Image, Add borders, and click yes. Apply a black, 10 pixel, symmetric border. With your magic wand, click in the black border and flood fill with the #7c170c color again. While still selected apply the same brush into the selected area, until you get the effect you want. Go to Effects, 3D effects and apply these settings:

Select none and add the copyright and your watermark and resize as needed. If you have any problems, please let me know. I hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I do.
