Con virgin report
Pt 2...THE CON...PART 2

I forgot to mention, after Sue and I ate last night, we met Lori in
the lobby. She asked us if we wanted to chum her to The Plaza area,
as she had to do some stuff at Kinkos( I think that was the name of
the place). Anyhoo, Sue and I browsed around the area, while Lori did
her stuff. There were little Cinderella carriages giving rides around
the streets. They were all lit up. Cute. Did anyone ride one of those?

FRIDAY 9th July

Sue and I headed down to register. I think we were about 10 minutes
early. Soon JoAnn is trying to sign us up for the zine reading. After
politely declining a hand written *longy*, I agree to read a nice
typed *shorty*. Oh boy. Slowly people start to arrive for
registering. Mary and Annette are first I think. Great to finally
meet them. Then Sigma arrives. I'm delighted. I get to use my dodgy
Japanese! LOL! Soon, the elusive Pixie arrives, along with Winterose,
and Amy. Hugs all around. We stand and chat for a bit, until the
registration stuff is ready. I get a special *virgin* pack, from the
wonderful Sheila, along with another of her special hugs. Thanks
Shelia!

Finally it's 10am, and the opening ceremony. After Lori says a few
words, we have a "getting to know you" bit. You have to write your
name, favorite character(other than V or C), and our groups etc.
Someone *gets* Lori(or was it JoAnn?) by putting Catherine as their
name, and Vincent, ONLY Vincent as their favorite character. She was
looking a bit puzzled until she realized that she'd been *had*. It
was a funny moment! LOL! Who did that, by the way?.

Next up was the audience participation. I was given a kind of wind
whistle to blow, along with another five people. The audience shouted
various phrases out, when certain words were mentioned. ie, candle
was *flicker flicker*...Father was *not a good idea Vincent...
Everytime the word *tunnel* came up...whoooooooooooooooooooooo, we
blew! The story, read by Judy, was about broccoli! LOL! Someone
refresh my memory on the actual title please.
Anyhoo, it was hilarious!

After the hilarity, it was onto the serious 1st season trivia stuff.
Boy, was I awful! They were hard questions! LOL! Sue had tears
running down my cheeks, as she *improvised* on some of her answers!

After an explanation about Shaddow Buddies, it was time for lunch.
Sue, Mary (tunnelmom),Annette, Pixie, Winterose, Mary (Burk), Amy and I
all headed to the nearby foodcourt doon the road. Now before I left
Japan, my eldest daughter asked me to bring her back the biggest cup,
and biggest French fry box I could get, from McDonalds. So, I ate
fries and drank diet coke for lunch. I needed to use two hands to
carry that cup! LOL! The food court had some rather interesting full
length mirrors in there, to my great embarrassment! They were so
clean, they looked like passageways. I walked into them...*twice*.
The second time, I thought I was walking into another person, only to
realize said *other person* had a Vincent T-shirt on, the same as
mine! I was bowing (been in Japan too long) my apologies, when it hit
me! What an idiot! Anyhoo, lunch was good.

Back to the hotel after lunch. Sharon Holtz, my other roomie, was
arriving around 2pm. I headed down to the lobby, making a stop at the
3rd floor. JoAnn tells me that Sharon has checked in and is looking
for me. I head to the lobby. No Sharon. Up to the room. No Sharon.
After bobbing up and down on the elevator for 5 minutes, keeping
missing her (LOL), I decide to stop at the 3rd floor again. Elevator
opens...Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! There she is! on the mobile
to her mum. We just about take her mum's ear off as we scream and
jump about! LOL! After nearly three years, it's so good to finally
meet her. We hug and chat, and get coffee.

Soon it's time for some videos. I have to confess, I can't remember
much about these. The orphan table is open now. I browse a wee bit. I
find *The Gutter* box, blush blush. I buy *Thighs and Whispers*,
blush blush(LOL). To my great delight, and astonishment, I discover
it has the song "Who Wants To Live Forever" in it! :-o. The song was
written by Brian May(Queen lead guitarist) for the film Highlander.
Those people who know me, will know that my other *passion*, apart
from B&B, is QUEEN(especially Freddie). So I was bowled over to see
that in there! Yeay! I also bought one of Suze's delightful Central
Park t-shirts. They're so cute!

Before I know it, it's time to eat again. The pasta station is open.
The chef cooked our food in front of us. Very tasty.

Deb's wonderful slide-shows were up next. They are fantastic! Thanks
Deb! Now my nerves were starting, as the zine group reading was
starting soon. Oh boy, was I nervous! Waiting for my turn made me
even more nervous! What if no one understands my accent? Yikes! LOL!
I'm pleased to say that it went off without a hitch(at least I
*think* it did, as no one complained! LOL).I have absolutely no idea
what the zine was about, as I was too busy worrying about not making
any bloopers myself! I'm sure it was a great story!

The final activity of the evening was "Pin The Tail On Vincent". Only
there were two versions(and he doesn't have a tail...he he). One was
to pin the *rose pouch, on his chest. The other was to pin the
*dangly bit *LOL, on his *nether region*, or thereabouts! I was, as
JoAnn put it *the guinea pig* he he. We were all in complete
agreement that the dangly bits definitely didn't do Vincent justice!
So, up I went first, followed by everyone else. It was an absolute
scream! There were three dangly bits stuck together at one point! Now
*that's* more like it! Vincent would be proud! LOL! It was so much
fun.
To calm us all down after all the fun, it was time for some
chocolate! LOL! Chocolate cookies and snacks are provided. Also all
during the day, coffee, tea and soft drinks are provided.
A few of us head down to the bar, for a late night tipple. Pixie,
Winterose, Annette, Mary B, Sharon and I. Trying to order bacardi and
lemonade was interesting! LOL! Whilst standing at the bar, with
Sharon, some guy tries to chat us up! Now, hearing a strange accent,
makes him worse(and, get this, he's with his fiance! LOL). He asks us
why we are there, than starts talking about Scotland etc 8-|. Once we
get our drinks, we sit down and have a good old natter. About an hour
later, Lori pops her head in the door, just for a *moment*, which
turns into about half an hour! We all have a good time, and laugh a
lot. I can't remember what time we *crashed*, but it was quite late.

Tomorrow is another day...
