Without the popularized views and sensationalism which often accompanies this subject, this book attempts to provide a straight-forward Scriptural study of the events surrounding the Second Coming of Christ.Why Another Book?Why another book on the Second Coming of Christ? I have asked myself that question many times as I have worked on this book. My answer is probably like that of most authors. They feel that they have a view or perspective that should be expressed. However, as I have looked at the books being presented on this subject, there are few that present a Biblical view that the church will go through the time of Great Tribulation. I believe it is important for God's people to be exposed to the view of Scripture rather than assume the popular theory of our day to be true.Does It Matter What View You Take?I believe a person's view of the Second Coming of Christ has more importance than just a theological position. Yes, many are tired of arguing over positions on this subject and want to get on with the tasks that God has called us to. They often argue that it doesn't matter what view you take as long as you are spiritually ready. However, it Jesus' and Paul's warning of a great falling away are for the church, then what we believe about Christ's return will have significance as we consider the signs of His coming and what He meant about being spiritually "ready." If Jesus and Paul thought it wasn't important, they wouldn't have given us specific signs to look for.Before you trust in the popular notion that you will escape the Great Tribulation, read this book!Before you believe that Jesus will come as a "thief in the night" in an any moment secret rapture, read this book! |
