Celebrating our first full week in Utah. We arrived here Friday afternoon after spending two full days fighting through snow, icy and stupid drivers. If your a stupid driver reading this, God Bless Ya!

Maddy started school here Tuesday. She loves it already. The school is huge, 945 kids, but the class sizes are small. Go property taxes go! I love her teacher, a retired principal and even though I could spit on the school from my front yard, she insists on riding the SPIDER bus. Yep, a spider bus. It's our beautiful big bus with black nasty spiders in the windows. Why oh why could we not have lived on the paperclip bus route? Or even the puppy route? So instead of heating up my car and dropping her off in that spacious big parking lot, I'm walking her to the corner in 20 degree snow. Woohoo. I'm hoping to get mom points for that one. She is happy as a claim though, that is reward enough.

Meredith is happy as a lark as there are NO DAYCARES HERE (read, the LDS population that is 90% strong here, has NO working moms apparently) so she is at home with me, happily hiding in boxes forcing me to play hide-n-seek in a panic about four times a day.

Dave, well Dave is in heaven. Last night he spotlighted a deer from our balcony. Crap, the Home Owners Association would be all over us at the sight of Dave sighting in his rifle from the balcony. The sight of hoof prints on my patio has me determined to never go outside unless it's a bright sunny day.

Wow! And me, well I'm starting school again on Saturday. I have DSL out here in the rural burbs, who knew! I'm apparently not going to be job hunting as the only preschools in the area are for two mornings a week plus Maddy gets out of school at 215. So I'm praying that the Lord will keep me sane. It's been a long time since I was in the house ALL THE TIME. :)

Prays are requested. We are in the heart of LDS (Mormon) country. They seem to be very family oriented people even though they believe differently but there are about 14 (yeah, I've counted) churches in this town. Interesting enough, three of them are within sight of each other, didn't get that one. However, we haven't been able to find ANY other churches in our immediate areas (that is four towns people). So this Sunday, we're driving about 40 miles away to a First Baptist Church we found. Please pray that we find our new church home soon.
