In a highly competitive and technologically-advanced educational society, it is no wonder that questions, concerns, and ideologies have emerged regarding the nature of education for adult learners.  Buzz words in the realm of education such as ease, flexibility, unity, technology, feminism, and success easily blend with one another launching various pertinent issues, particularly in relation to women obtaining higher education.  It is our goal to address these issues.  Through this presentation, we introduce several articles that tend to these matters more specifically.  We have grouped these articles together for review under common themes that progressively build on one another.

Within this unit, you will

  • Differentiate between male and female needs in an online environment.

  • Explain the importance of the female learner’s needs in the design of learning and the introduction of support systems.

  • Discuss the various types of DE technologies, such as video and the Internet, and their benefits and challenges to feminist facilitators and students.

Please follow the links below accordingly, and then join us in the MDDE651 discussion to share your thoughts.
