The women's race was all about Saturn's Lynn Bessette as she soloed in easily for the win an estimated 2:30 ahead of the rest of the field. Winning the field sprint was yesterday's winner, Diet Rite's Tina Mayolo-Pic over Rona's Nicole Freedman. Bessette escaped after a barrage of attacks after the first lap in the 72 mile, three lap race. The Saturn women covered the attacks, allowing Bessette to counter. Bessette kept the pressure on continuing to gain time on the Diet Rite chase. Bessette's teammate, Ina Teutenberg finished fourth, for a nice cap on the day.
