1) Sharks are a 400 million year old species and is facing extinction now because of humans.

2) One dish of Sharks' fin soup contains enough mercury to make men infertile, or cause severe brain disorders in a foetus during pregnancy.

3)Sharks' fins has no taste at all, it is the chef who adds broth like chicken soup to get the flavour.

To obtain Shark's fin, Sharks are hauled on deck and their fins are hacked off while they are still alive. They are then tossed back into the sea to sink to the bottom of the ocean. It will then bleed to death slowly or drown because it cannot breathe, as water no longer flows through its mouth and over the gills. Little fishes would then feast on its open wounds as it lies helplessly awaiting its death. It is a slow and excruciating painful death for the Sharks in exchange for what we eat.

- Do not buy food containing Sharks' fin. Tell your friends and relatives that they are contributing to the irreversible decline of an endangered shark species.
- Do not buy Shark jaws, it may belong to an endangered species.
- Do not buy Sawfish saws, another highly endangered species.
- Avoid buying "Rock Salmon" in fish and chips shops. It is just a nickname for 'Spiny Dogfish', a species of shark whose population is declining rapidly.
- Avoid buying Shark cartilage pills in health food shops, be aware that there are opposing views as to the efficacy of this treatment against cancer.
