I have only been handling dogs for a few years. I began with helping my Mum and Sister showing their Shelites. I had been given a Sheltie to show from Lyn VD of Lynroge Kennels and as a baby he won baby puppy in show under breed specialisy Mrs K Hatley (UK), however Bee Bee's show career was short lived as when he was older he dicided that he didn't want to be a show dog. I dearly wanted a Border Collie, I waited for a long time as I had to prove to my Mum that I was dedicated and responsible enough to have my own dog, we did get a Border Collie Khayoz Leading Lady "Bo" she is owned in partnership with Kate and John of Khayoz Kennels. I showed Bo from the start and she has been wonderful. As a baby she had won many baby in group awards and a baby in show all with me showing her. At her first Melbourne Royal Bo won her Minor Puppy class, it was such a thrill to win at my first Royal show, Bo is now over half way to her Australian Champion title. I really only started showing in Junior handlers in 2006 when I got Bo. That year at Melbourne Royal I showed Bo in handlers and placed 3rd then a few days later i showed a Sheltie and won. That day I made many great friends, people that I'm still friends with today. After Melbourne I started to show in handlers more often, my Mum and Sister tell that I've improved a lot over the last 12 months. Bo has now returned to Kate and John prior to Bo leaving I had a new dog to show.
My new dog is Ch Ellagant Rhapsody N Blue "Logan". I now own Logan in partnership with Ana Richardson of Ellagant Kennels. Since having Logan he has won Best in Groups and many classes in group. At our first specialty show together Logan was awarded Dog Challenge with me handling him. He is the first Ellagant dog to win a challenge at specialty level.
I try to show many different breeds to gain more experience. To date i've shown over 20 different breeds. Below are some photos of me handling different dogs. |
