Dad's Page
I originally built this page in June 1999 for Dad to let the world know what Dad likes. I have rebuilt this to reflect the changes in Dad's likes and to add a few things. Thanks, Dad.
Dad loves trains. Ever since I was a kid and he bought a train set  for my little sister Maureen - and then wouldn't let her play with it unless he was around - I knew Dad was just a little kid himself.
Dad grew up in Oakland and used to be a fan of the old Oakland Oaks baseball team in the Pacific Coast League. They're gone now, but a world class team, the Oakland A's, are now in his hometown.

Dad likes them a lot - I think it's because they wear his favorite color- GREEN!
Dad is also a Lion. I remember when I was a kid and it was father/daughter day at his club (the Davis Earlybird Lions)and my two sisters and I got up at 5 in the morning to go eat pancakes at the Jolly Roger in West Sacramento. I hated getting up so early, but those pancakes were GOOD!
These are pictures of Dad and me (left) and Maureen and Dad (right). They were taken at his house on Christmas Day,1999.
Here is Dad telling Santa what he wants for Christmas 1999. I think he asked for his own BIG TRAIN to ride around town on.
When I was a very young girl, Dad was a police officer. I remember riding in his patrol car and how much fun it was. (Of course the last time I rode in a patrol car, it wasn't in the front!)
This is Dad in his younger days, back when he was courting mom.
Now I know where
my personality comes from!
My Dad, John P. McMahan, passed away July 23, 2005. Click here for a link to the local write ups and what people said about Dad.
