"jg's Turn to Talk about Lynda" !:)
Hi if you are reading this then you must be visiting "Lynda's" fabulous home
page. I first met Lynda back in February 1996 on Dalnet in channel #40+,
hmmm, well I guess that tells ya that I am at least 40. Lynda and the
others in the channel played lots of music "WAV" files back and forth. The
start of this long lasting friendship with Lynda began when I would mess up
getting wave files from her. Ya see to get a wave file you have to type a
colon and the nickname of the person you are getting it from, followed by
the name of the wave file. Well how many Lyndas do you know that have a "y"
instead of an "i" in there name.? I didn't know any until meeting Lynda on
line. The fun started, when I would type "!Linda song_name.wav"... and
nothing would happen. Then she would like yell, "jg it's Y not I". I would
mumble something about my keyboard warranty running out and then she would
send me the file lol (laughing out loud). Thanks Lynda, I got real used to
typing "Y" in your name after a month or so of getting them wave files from
you. Another event of regularity is that we never get a file to send at
anything other than snails pace so we would end up E-mailing them to save
time. I consider Lynda a very good friend and was fortunate enough to meet
her in December along with 12 other chat friends that visited Virginia Beach
. Another thing don't get into a web page building contest with her cause
you will loose.
