/var/opt/SUNWsamfs - usual location for log files and queues.

/opt/SUNWsamfs  - binaries, scripts, man pages and templates

# sam-fsd  Check and report on the mcf file configuration and on daemon tracing, but do not actually make any changes.

# archiver -lv  Check the archiver.cmd file and report any errors, but do not actually make any changes

# showqueue -v  - shows all scan lists and the archiving queue.

# samfsinfo <family set name> - the only command that displays the DAU.

# samd config - Force sam-fsd and sam-archiverd to read configuration files. This must be run any time a configuration file is created or changed.

# samd stop

# samd start

Stop and restart sam-amld and the other mass storage hardware management daemons. It is not necessary to run samd stop|start unless you are setting up SAM-Remote or otherwise changing the configuration of the tape library catalog. The samd start command must be preceded by samd config for any changes to take effect.

# samu - THE interactive administrative utility forr QFS, which contains lots of prompts and help pages.

# samcmd <command> - the static command line equivalent of samu.
