Key Club is the largest high school community service organization in the world dedicated in serving the community. Key Club is part of Kiwanis international, an adult version key club. Hence, Key stands for KIWANIS.EDUCATING.YOUTH. Worldwide, there are 186,965 members, 4512 clubs, 32 districts, and participation in 19 countries.
If you havent noticed, we have a couple of penguin things all around. Because Key Club is so big, its divided into districts, regions, and divisions. Every district has a mascot, as does every division. Heres a little knowledge that might help you out if youre a little confused (optional knowledge):
In the Key World, Kiwanis International is placed at the highest level while the individual clubs are at the lowest levels. A group of schools in one area make up a division. Lynbrook is part of Division 17/34 our divisional mascot is the PENGUIN! Every division has a Lieutenant Governor that makes sure that everything is running smoothly and is kind of the head honcho of the group of schools. Lucky for Lynbrook, Division 17/34s Lieutenant Governor is our very own Tianqi Zhao and were the home club for the division. Schools in our division include: Mills, Sequoia, Menlo-Atherton, Gunn, Palo Alto, Mountain Vie, Carlmont, Monta Vista, Cupertino, Fremont, and Homestead.
A group of divisions make up a region. Were part of Region 5. Other clubs in our region include: Prospect, Piedmont Hills, etc.
A group of regions make up a district. Were part of the Cali-Nev-Ha District (California, Nevada, and Hawaii). Our mascot is the bee. So, theres a Lieutenant governor in every division right? Well, for every district, theres a Governor, the MAJOR head honcho for Key Clubs all of these 3 states. Crazy huh?

Senior year: 400 pts/year
The meetings are held every Wednesday at brunch in the auditorium.
In order to get members in and out of meetings, we need everyones cooperation by refraining from bunching around the bulletin board, for the activity sign up sheets are available on the bulleting board so you can sign up everyday. Also, please enter the auditorium as fast as possible and remain quiet until the officers are done talking. Not only will we then have efficient and organized meetings, it will allow for more time for you guys to ask questions, get forms, receive t-shirt points, etc.
A calendar of activities for each month will be handed out prior to each month at meetings and members can sign up on the billboard in front of the auditorium. Sign ups are at a first come first serve basis.
Missing an activity is inexcusable and will result in a severe point deductions. If a member truly cannot attend the activity due to a good reason, he must contact the officer in charge of the activity at least 3 days in advance of the day of the activity.
When going/returning from most activities, members will need rides. It is NOT mandatory for officers to set up rides, it is just a gesture of goodwill. Officers will try to set up rides for every activity, but in the event that no rides can be found, all members will need to get to the activity themselves.
If a member can provide rides for other members, they will receive 5 additional pts each way. 5 pts to and 5 pts fro. All members are to meet for rides at Lynbrooks parking lot.
Divisional t-shirts can be purchased for $10. These shirts will be worn at convention, so buy one now if you are planning to attend convention. Also, a member will receive 5 points for each two meetings a member attends.
