Shino - Graceless (2003)

Ratings:***3

I failed to see the beauty of the first track and its importance as the feature song. I mean it doesn't even look a bit impressive in melody nor music wise. However, this loss is quickly compensated by the 2nd track "Shi Pei", which is beautifully slipped in with elegant piano tunes. Coming up next is third track "Ci Ci Cha", a soft rock song. And that's all about it. The rest are just forgetable tracks. To soothe your heart, if u like cover versions, there's a Korean song "Wo Xian Jai Hen Hao". No doubt, this album lacks of good rock stuff.

Without her previous band, I thought Shino would be going less aggresive in this album. But NO. I was wrong. Her song "Fang Shou Yi Bo" proves that she's not going to be even a bit "less noisy" than Faith Yang Nai Wen. Roping in Japanese Susumu Nishikawa for music arrangement, Shino went on to win the hearts of her fans with her song, "Music All Night". Other nice tracks are "Won't Cry" and "Zhi Nan Er Tui".

This is Shino 3 (2000)

What I think of her? I think, out of all the Taiwanese singers out there who try to sing Cantonese, probably she's the best. Don't believe me! Just take a listen to her song "Wa Wa Ngoi Tin Ha" in this album. Personaly, I feel other than "Wong Ka Kui" of "Beyond", she's certainly the other singer who has that similar passion to drag the last note in their songs. One good example is song "Everyday". Other notable songs in this abum are "This is", "Jiao Cha Xian" and " So Hurt, For Who?".

This album is hard to review. I only like two songs in this album, which are "Yong Yuan" and "Hands Too Small".
