Karen Mok - X (Released on September 2003)

Rating: ****4

After being surprised by her melodious rock number "I Will Be Fine" in her previous album, Karen is back again with her 10th album released so far, to grab my attention with her new intro track "Love you to death", a truly outstanding "rock + hip - hip" track. I think the guy who does the rap part in the song, really did an excellent job in making the song more interesting.

My next favourite song in this album is "Ventriloquism", a truly beautifully-done acoustic track which soothes you easily even while you may have a toothache.

"Sober" sounds a bit like the 60s or 70s oldies jazzy songs. It reminds me of the oldies I listened- to in my childhood days. Luv it!

David Tao's composition for Karen, "I Understand Him" is not bad too. It is a relaxing melodic soft number, which could easily take you to paradise while sleeping.

On a more alternative side, u can listen to Karen's composition "Double" which has her experimenting on some of the unique ways of singing. Check it out guys! Not a bad song. In fact, I like it quite much.

Verdict: Half of the songs in the album are COOL! Could be better!
