Nam Yik Bong- No Need People See, People Love (Released in June 2004)

Ratings: ****4

This guy composes his own songs, writes his own lyrics and plays the piano. What else to ask for??? Artist like him is a rare sight in HK music scene. To bring David Tao and Jay Chou into the picture of comparison would be too naive. This is because Nam's style is totally different from theirs. I would say Nam has his own unique style.

The album has a concept of ballad, rock and jazz music. My favourite track is track 1 "Bun Souk Dan" (Half boiled Egg). A brilliant track which is strongly piano-driven. Coupled with the help of drums, it exudes a feeling of rock.

Other recommended tracks:-

Track 2 "Yit Dai Yue" (Tropical Fish) runs a similar vein but more on a happy note.

Track 5 "Sam Dim Bing Sut" (3 o'cloak Freezer)

Track 7 "Doll" touches on the topic of "shopping".

If u are looking for originality, a raw voice and nice ballads, then this is an album for u. 4 good songs out of 12 tracks.
