Ah Niu- Kok Wai Nam Yan San Fu Sai (2003)
Ratings: ****4
This is Ah Niu's first Cantonese album and also his first time producing an album. Even his wife lends a helping hand in taking the pictures for his album cover. It looks like he is now targeting Hong Kong as the next market to penetrate after Taiwan. And of course, my favourite song in this album is, none other than "Oi Nei Yat Sai" (Love U Forever) which is written by one of his Hong Kong fan. The girls in the background surely helps a lot to strengthen his vocals. The song makes u think back about your teenage times. U know, like your university days. In "Hai Sum Yau Go 1Yat, Em Hoi Sum Yau Go 1Yat", u can hear him doing a rap song for the first time. In between the song, u may hear some of the famous script lines in HK movies. In this album, u will find a jazzy 60s- type of music in song "Kok Wai Nam Yan Sun Fu Sai". The song narrates, in spite of the macho nature of man, man still needs the comfort and love of women and that's why man work so hard for their love. Whereas, in "Hello Hong Kong", we get a soft paced acoustic song. There's also a song by Man Bai, which is being sing again by Ah Niu. Overall, I will give 4 out of 5 stars to this album.
