Meetinghouse Library Database Manual
The library database program is designed to be used in a small to medium library environment. It will keep track of items. Each item is required to have a unique barcode. There are no requirements on the length or contents of a barcode. It is strongly suggested that barcodes be kept short and not contain the letter o. It is very difficult to tell the difference between a letter 0 and a number 0 .
Adding Items to the library database
1. Click on the ADD/EDIT items button.

Enter
a unique barcode, and a title. If you enter a previously used
barcode then you may edit the fields.
Enter subject keywords that describe the item. These keywords will be used to search for the item in the future. Example: A picture of a church. Subject keywords could be building, doors, steeple, church, worship.
Author, Copyright and Location are optional.
II. Deleting Items
1. To delete an item enter it's barcode and press submit. NOTE that once an Item is deleted it cannot be recovered!!

Check OUT Items
1. Choose the person's ward.
2. Type in their first and last name
3. Address, city, phone number, and zip code are optional
4. Using the mouse click in the barcode field. Enter an items barcode. The title will appear for valid items. Continue adding barcode items. Press done to check out items.

Check IN
1. To check in items enter the barcode. Press Enter or press the submit button. When done checking in items press the EXIT button.

SEARCH
1. Enter keyword(s) that you wish to search for. Multiple words will be joined with either AND or OR depending on the radio button setting. You may search the Title, Subject, or Author for key words depending on the radio button settings.

if results are found a Datavision report will appear with the results.

IV.
INVENTORY REPORT
1. Clicking on this will launch a datavision inventory report containing all items in the database

VII.
CHECKED OUT REPORT
1. Clicking on this will launch a datavision report showing the items checked out and by whom
