Litaja is what people call a "constructed language" or conlang. this is a language like Esperanto, Laadan, Klingonese, Talossan, or even Interlingua: it has been created to meet a need.
It's a national symbol of the project, and serves no purpose other than to (a) have fun, and (b) bring the citizens of Lykosha together. Litaja has unique features: it is entirely runic (the alphabet is made, and about to be scanned so that it can be used online), and every word's ending tells you what kind of word it is (nouns, adjectives, adverbs are categorised in this way).
DO I HAVE TO LEARN IT?
Litaja is not a requirement of citizenship, and indeed: the public language of the land is English (it's spoken worldwide). But we think it's interesting, and a fun way to express yourself. Lessons are free; there's a large dictionary in the works (it's handwritten now, and needs to be scanned into the computer database.
WHERE DID IT COME FROM? IS IT EASY?
As for where it comes from, Litaja is a language created by P. A. Richter, who wrote a series of stories depicting a race of people who were descended from lupine ancestry. Why use it? It'sa part of Lykosha, and included as something interesting. The pronunciation can be tricky, but so long as you remember the rules, it's fairly easy to learn and speak.
