C itizenship in L ykosha

[Refer to Packlaw #4: On Citizenship]

CAN I JOIN YOUR GROUP? How?

OH YES. Easy; just fill out this form.here, telling us that you want to join: Just like a real passport, there are certain things we need:

Please include:

  • Your complete name, address and vital statistics (such as date of birth, etc. as though you were applying for a passport) If you have any questions, remember that all application information remain confidential)
  • A valid email address. Why do we insist? Mostly because we've heard so many stories about losing touch with members and friends.
  • How you found Lykosha, and why you want to join us
  • If you're interested in helping the government. All ministerial positions (Defense, Finance, Diplomacy, etc.) are open.
  • Anything else you think we need to know (such as skills and talents that might help the nation to grow), and how we can make Lykosha better.
  • Of course, if it's easier, you may use email, on your own. It's up to you.

WHAT DO I GET BY BEING A CITIZEN?

Anything you might get by being a citizen of any micronation, plus more.

We are an elective monarchy. Although the Packleader makes decrees, #1) he or she may NOT make decisions that conflict with the original concept. Fortunately, this still leaves a lot of room for changes. and #2) if any one citizen thinks they can do a better job, then he or she can Challenge for the Leader's position.

As a political experiment, the object is to see if it can be done. If it can, then a new nation will emerge on the socio-political landscape. Those who are watching over this project are betting that there ARE people who want something better for themselves and their fellows. This becomes the opportunity to make it happen.

I HEARD YOU ALLOW DUAL CITIZENS. ISN'T THIS A BAD IDEA?
Most believe this true, but not us. The reason is that Lykosha already allows this because we are not expecting anyone to give up their macro-national membership. Seems rather contradictory.

So long as the micronation you already belong to allows it, then so do we. You must, of course, be honest enough to tell us so.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE? WHAT CAN I DO?
Suggest a law; bring up a topic for discussion. Even though no vote may come of it, it's a great way to get to know one another.

As for what you can do, well: anything, really! Monthly meetings, on current events in the macro- or micro-national arena can be discussed, and other newsworthy subjects as well. The idea is to create something of worth, even if only here on the Internet. We'll change as we grow, but stay strong together; anything might happen. We'll see.

    WHAT ABOUT THIS CONLANG, LITAJA?
Litaja is what people call a "constructed language" or conlang. this is a language like Esperanto, Laadan, Klingonese, Talossan, or even Interlingua: it has been created to meet a need.

It's a national symbol of the project, and serves no purpose other than to (a) have fun, and (b) bring the citizens of Lykosha together. Litaja has unique features: it is entirely runic (the alphabet is made, and about to be scanned so that it can be used online), and every word's ending tells you what kind of word it is (nouns, adjectives, adverbs are categorised in this way).

DO I HAVE TO LEARN IT?
Litaja is not a requirement of citizenship, and indeed: the public language of the land is English (it's spoken worldwide). But we think it's interesting, and a fun way to express yourself. Lessons are free; there's a large dictionary in the works (it's handwritten now, and needs to be scanned into the computer database.

WHERE DID IT COME FROM? IS IT EASY?
As for where it comes from, Litaja is a language created by P. A. Richter, who wrote a series of stories depicting a race of people who were descended from lupine ancestry. Why use it? It'sa part of Lykosha, and included as something interesting. The pronunciation can be tricky, but so long as you remember the rules, it's fairly easy to learn and speak.

Tey vaar , which means: "I'll see you later"). See?

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
Nothing more really. So what are you waiting for?
