UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2003
Unreal Tournament 2003 is the eagerly awaited sequel to 1999's Unreal Tournament. Although both games emphasizes on multiplayer action, the single player option is worth playing too.

As usual, there are several game modes available to hone your skills. The usual deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag modes are still here as well as some of the modes that can only be found in The unreal tournament series : Domination and Bombing Run (which plays like rugby, only more violent).

Like in the previous unreal tournament, tutorials are provided for new players which explains the rules of the gameplay modes as well as some handy tips.

What makes the single player experience so absorbing is that once you have won some tournaments, other gameplay modes becomes unlocked. In addition, you can select your own teammates, each of them with their own strengths and weaknesses. But if unlocking modes is not for you, then you can play the instant action mode where you can choose what gameplay mode you want as well as changing the rules and modifying them. Examples include a vampire mode where if you inflict damage on an opponent, your health increases.

Another feature worth mentioning is the new powerups. Previously, you only have the standard powerups such as armour, invincibility or increased damage. In this installement, you have pills scattered throughout the level. Once you have collected enough, you can execute extra abilties by executing key combinations.(example: faster movement)
I also particularly like to double jump (by pressing the jump key twice) and shooting using my rocket launcher.

As for the levels, each one has a different theme, both indoors and outdoors. Fight in jungles, Egypt and even Hell ! There are also some levels where gravity is very low.

The weapons have also undergone some changes in terms of the amount of damage. The sniper rifile here, however, is a welcome change as it leaves a trail after using it so players will know where the shot is coming from.

The only thing which I found disappointing is that after finishing all the gameplay modes, the only thing to unlock is a team deathmatch and a 1to1 deathmatch. A new gameplay mode would be better. In addition, the assault gameplay mode found in the original is missing.

In conclusion, if you have recently bought a new PC, try this game to test your PC as this game is very demanding on the requirements, especially the graphic card that you have.

Pros : Great graphics, interesting gameplay, cool powerups

Cons : High system requirements
