Games For Girls : A Special Report
  Computer games nowadays have so far been generally accepted by the public. It was not too long ago that many people thought that games were made generally for either young children or older geeky males. But times have changed. Computer games are big business. With bigger budgets, most games released today are of higher quality in terms of graphics and gameplay. Although I must admit, most games involves shooting of some weapon and/or violence of some kind that appeals to mostly male gamers.
   Ok, so what do girls like to play then ? Here are some of the best recommendations given by some female gamers that I know :

   The most highly rated game by females is none other than The Sims. There are several reasons why this game is popular with females :
1. It is like playing digital 'dolls' with your very own digital dollhouse.
2. The dollhouse effect. e.g purchasing items for your sims' house, such as furniture.  
3. You can get your sims to interact with one another. Something which dolls cannot do.
4. Tamagotchi is so 1990's.
   These are propably some of the reasons why The Sims is the best-selling PC Game of all time. With about 7 expansions so far (each with different settings) excluding an online version, players will play this game for a very long time.

    The next game that I want to highlight is the Worms series. Never heard of it ? It is basically a turn-based strategy game where you control these worms which are equipped with military weapons. And the objective is what else ? Kill every other worm that is not in your team.
    Part of the reason why this game is so fun to play for both males and females is that the game is easy to learn and there are tons of features that can be changed to your liking (e.g naming your worm). You can even create your own levels if you are feeling creative. So far, there are about 3 sequels (excluding Worms Blast, which plays like puzzle Bubble. Also recommended) So if you have plenty of friends around in your house, load this game up, play it and get ready to laugh your head off !

  Here is another classic that has been revamped with updated graphics and sound. Its called Atomic Bomberman. Up to 4 players can play on the same computer. The objective is simple - blow your opponent up and remain the last one standing. Even if your character has died, you can even lob grenades at the side ! Similar to the Worms series, its also another fun game to play with many people.

   After all the shooting mayhem, you might get tired of it and one something that can give your brain a workout. Well, look no further. Here is a game for you that in my opinion, is far better (and more addictive) than Tetris ! This puzzle game for 1 or 2 players is called Lose your Marbles and plays something like Tetris and like the latter, is more fun to play with a friend than playing it alone.
   In this game, players are given a stack of marbles. The main objective is to lose your marbles by matching 3 or more marbles of similar type in the middle portion of your stack. Since you can only control the middle portion, players will have to move the columns and rows of marbles only from there. And if you get at least 4 or more marbles matched in a row, the marbles will be added to your opponenet's stack ! Another laugh a minute affair. Highly recommended.

   So there you have it ! The Best 4 games that can be enjoyed by males and females, both young or old.
