CRIMSON SKIES
In Crimson Skies, you play a good pirate named Nathan Zachary. Set in the 1930's, you and your squad mates fly modified aeroplanes in search of adventure and accomplishing missions from rescuing actresses to destroying zeppelins (which is the main feature of this game).

There are two modes that are found in this game: campaign mode and instant action. For those who wants to know the adventures of Nathan Zachary and be rewarded by black&white cutscenes, choose the former, otherwise if you crave for dogfights and other action, choose the latter.

Before each mission, there will be a briefing and a chance for you to choose your plane and ammo. If you want, you can also construct your own plane. This is entirely a simple process. At over 20 missions, the difficulty level varies with each mission. Some missions are so easy that you can win on the first try. However, there are also some missions that are so difficult that I had to resist my urge to skip that particular mission (which is allowed in this game) This game also does not allow you to save during the mission and this can be frustrating as some missions can be quite lengthy. It would be better if you can save after fulfilling one mission objective so that I won't have to repeat the same thing again.

There are also a minor bug in this game in which the game sometimes hangs or stops loading a level. Fortunately, this can be resolved without restarting the computer. (Just press Ctrl-Alt-Del to end task and back to the desktop). Another major bug which I have read in other reviews is that after installing a patch, the saved games would not work or disappeared. However, I did not patch this game so I did not encounter this problem. This is also a main reason why some reviews gave it a much lower score that was intended.

In short, if you are tired of one first person shooter after another, try this game for some fun dogfighting action !
