Veronica Lee
Well did they tell ya, you couldnt go out and play?
So you were sitting alone
Not doing anything, just getting stoned.
Wasted days on the information highways.
You were bored
talking away all the time you could afford.
Drowning in depression
So I wrote this little ditty to fight back the dejection.

Hey didnt they say Veronica Lee is pretty?
But there goes the girl with sad eyes,
Deaf to all our cries.
You are so pretty is what theyd say
But she would just turn and walk away.

Oh so long ago this little girl learned not to think so.
Tell me who could have done such a thing?
To not let the little angel sing?
How could they let the child grow
Without ever letting her know?

Grow now and forgive the past
Somehow be free at last.
Veronica Lee let your heart say I am pretty.

I wrote this about a friend, while listening to Pink Floyd.
But its really about all kids. People act like kids can go through anything and come out of it unharmed, but thats not true. Parents seem to think that even though nobody in the family says the things that are really important that everybody knows it, thats not true either. Just be mindful of what you say and especially what you dont, because kids take it all to heart.
Through the Eyes to the Soul.
