The Eyes of Love
What are we if we do not love?
How can we go on living
Without ever knowing
What humanity could truly be?

There was a time
When I was living life blind
And love was all around me
But I could not see
Where truth and wisdom lie.

I thought of the end
And I felt like thered never be a time when
I could feel good again.
I stood upon a precipice, I had to choose
Which path to use,
To decide whether Id live or die.

Now Ive regained sight
In a world of darkness, I stepped into the light.
We all have to spread our wings
and break free of the deepening delusion
That has bound us to the ground
Now open your eyes, and take that step,
Open your heart and reach out of the confusion
And see with the eyes of love.

This poem is about opening our eyes and really seeing just what we could become: An intelligent, benevolent race who strives for the betterment, peace and truth with in ourselves and in the vast universe.
