During this time my mom was struggling to make ends meet and then she met a Christian family by the name of the Hamm�s who took her and me into their home. They let me stay with them while my mother tried to get a job and make enough money to get an apartment and have a place for me and her to live. *Some of the pictures that refer to a place called Chestnut street are before and just after my father's departure.*
His mother was planning on moving to Florida so he went with her. And I believe that his new wife and kids went to, I think that�s where they parted ways and when his mother wanted to move to West Virginia *where they now reside* he went also. He met another woman they had Eric jr, that affair ended too.
Mean while I spent 4 years with the Hamm�s. Mrs. Hamm always wanted a little girl but had 3 boys instead. So when she had the opportunity to care for me she was overjoyed. Then she found she had raised a tom-boy, lol! So I went back to my mother who was living with her parents and trying to make enough money so she could get a place of her own. When I came back to my mother we stayed with my Grandparents for a little while and then we moved into a tiny little apartment. A few years later we moved into a bigger place and we had lived there for 17 years.
Well from what I know of my brothers and sisters, they moved back and forth between parents. And our father mostly stayed with his mother in West Virginia. I�m told that most of our aunt�s and uncles live in Florida and some in Pennsylvania, my Grandmother Mary Katherine visits her children in Florida every year. My youngest sister Sarah is looking to get her license in massage therapy. And my other sister Amber is married, she and her husband Joe have a business selling women's apparel. My little brother Wesley is living with our Dad and Grandmom. My other brother Brandan is living with his fiance Rosie in Florida. And Eric Jr. is still living with his mother.
My mother and I had a rough time of trying to learn to live together; frankly, I was a bitch to raise. But, haha, we got through it, and I feel that we have the best mother & daughter relationship ever!
My father says that during his time of moving from place to place he misplaced any information as to where I was so that�s why I hadn�t heard from him for so many years. But in 2005 I met my Great Aunt Joyce and she helped me get in touch with my father and in the summer of that year he came up and spent a week with me and his brother, Perry, whom I got to meet as well. They are a very nice family.
I recently met my Grandmother and Wesley and I look forward to meeting the rest of my family soon, hopefully during the 2007-2008 Family Reunion. But for now the phone will do just nicely and we all know where every one is if we need to contact each other for any reason.
And I want everyone reading this to know that I or my mother hold no ill feelings towards my father. I believe that things happen for a reason, it helps us grow stronger and to be able to deal with future situations and from that we teach our children so that they have a better life and sometimes it is because we will be the source of knowledge that others will learn from.
