Mr. Apathy
My neighbor thinks my mom is paranoid
Why? Because she wants to stay informed
To know where she stands and what to expect
Because shes got a family to protect
Meanwhile he chooses to stay in the dark
His future is a question mark.
And living a life of contradictory because he told me
That anyone who chooses to be knowledgeable is labeled crazy
And how wrong that is and yet there he goes calling my mom names!
But when I bring it up, put him on the spot,
challenge his words he wants it dropped!
What is up with these head games?

Hes always drunk and unaware
Of how it affects others and sees things that arent there
Then tried to get us kicked out because he claims
My uncle lit a firecracker in his face
But he was no where near his place.
And he expects my loyalty
but what kind of friend are you suppose to be?

You lie more than I can stand
I get enough of that from the government man!
Seems like the only thing you can talk about all day long
Is when youre bitching about my mom,
And you expect me to be happy while youre yelling at me?

Im sitting here writing this and then it hits me, your mister Apathy!
Mr. Apathy says he cares,
But when his anger flares,
He does the things no one dares.

Spoiled little mommas boy,
Gets angry when the world doesnt act like his little toy,
Living only for his joy.

Couldnt be bothered with peoples sorrow,
Doesnt want to hear about it
Says he doesnt know how to fight it
But hed rather stay in the dark and invite it.
And pretty soon hell be thinking about what to beg, steal or borrow,
Just to live for another tomorrow.

This is about a person who I thought was my friend, but it turns out that he really wasnt. Its also about people who make it really hard for some of us who are trying to make a better life for ourselves and a future for our childrens children.
