Our subject was born in 1772, was married to Elizabeth McFARLAND in 1804 and soon after settled where the village of Greenville now is. He lived there till his death in 1844, when his son William succeeded him in possession of the homestead.

Elizabeth, d., b. in 1806, m. to Patrick LYDICK;
William, b. in 1808, d. in 1875, m. to Margaret MOORHEAD, b. in 1818, daughter of Samuel MOORHEAD, early settler;
Jane, b. in 1811, m. to Christopher STUCHELL;
Mary, b. in 1814, m. to David MYERS;
Robert, b. in 1819, d.;
John M., b. in 1817, m. to Elizabeth MOCK;
Rhoda, b. in 1821, d., m. to Washington HUFFNAGLE;
Martha, b. in 1824, m. to Alexander STUCHEL.
William was sheriff of the county one term, served in state legislature three terms; was county surveyor several years, and clerk in the land office at Harrisburg for ten years preceding his death. His widow and unmarried children now live on the Samuel MOORHEAD homestead, near Two-lick creek, settled by him in 1818. The land was surveyed to Arthur DONALDSON November, 1773.

John M., b. 1847.
A. W. EVANS, John SEBRING and N. W. STEWART all served in late war, and SEBRING was killed at Cold Harbor, Virginia.
