GEORGE BECK, was born in Berks County, in the year 1802, and was the son of John and Mary BECK nee HAWK. The former was a native of Berks county. The family removed to Union, thence to Centre, thence to Clearfield, where they died at the age of seventy-eight, and were buried in the Luthersburg cemetery.
The children were: Jacob, d.; Elizabeth, d.; Kate, John, d., Conrad, d., Daniel, d., George, m. to Susannah BENNETT, d., in 1874 , at the age of sixty-three; Louis, Margaret, m. to Frederick SYLER; Susannah, d.; Henry, Isaac and William.
George's children were: Elizabeth, m. Henry MILLER; Margaret, m. John FAITH; Mary, m. Andrew MILLER; Martha, d., in 1859, m. to David LUTE; John, d.; Catherine, d., Susannah, d.,; Rebecca Jane, m. first to William LANDERS, d., second, to Michael MILLER, d., and third, to James McGINITY; Christiana; Isaac, m. to Amanda E. SHEFFLER; Abraham, m. to Margaret Francis MARKS, and Sarah Amanda, d.
Abraham's only child is Lawrence.
Our subject has been a blacksmith for fifty-nine years, fifty of which have been passed in Indiana County, and thirty at the county seat.
The children of Isaac and Amanda E. BECK were: Edson Evart, Harry Jennings and William George.
