Updates on my health

May/June

5/15/03 Hi everyone!  I'm doing great these days!  Everybody is amazed at how chunky I am! I don't look anything like a preemie because I am so big! I must weight about 18 pounds now. Thank you for your prayers! I did have another weird episode again recently.  My mommy and daddy were able to video tape it, so hopefully we'll be able to see a pediatric neurologist soon.  Unfortunately, all the pediatric neurologists are booked until September, so I have to wait to see what my doctor wants me to do.  Please continue to pray that I do not have any of these weird episodes, and that my brain is functioning well.  My next eye exam is June 12th.  I may get new glasses after that appointment.  The glasses I have now are getting a little snug on my face b/c my head is getting so big.  Hopefully, my eyes are getting better and not worse.  I'll let you know what happens.  Take care everyone!

6/15/03 Long time no talk!  I am now 11 months old and my 1st birthday is less than a month away!  I am very excited because I'm going to have my first birthday party ever! I am probably about 19 pounds now and getting chunkier each day!  At my last eye exam (6/12) I found out that my left eye has gotten even more nearsighted (-9.25).  My right eye remained the same (-7.5).  I will have to get a new pair of glasses with my new prescription.  I may be one of the few babies who has had 2 pairs of glasses before the age of 1. I'm supposed to continue to wear a patch on each eye alternating days to prevent any possibility of crossed eyes.

I still haven't been able to see a pediatric neurologist yet, but thankfully I haven't had any more weird episodes recently.  Hopefully, that problem will resolve itself on its own.  Once my hospital gets a new neurologist, I'll be able to make an appointment.  I have been having a great time these days because I'm sitting up by myself and rolling around everywhere.  Besides wearing glasses, I've been living a pretty normal life for a baby.

God bless you and thank you for your continued prayers!
