My Mom (Eulogy delivered on August 18, 2001 at St. Justin Parish Church)
T hank you all for coming here this morning. I know my mom is smiling down at us all. She sees all the people who care for her in one room, maybe sharing stories from the past.My mom was a very special woman. To me, she was the strongest person I knew. She still is. My mom was always there when you needed her. If you were down, she would brighten your day. My mom had this personality you couldn't hate. The people she befriended immediately grew fond of her. My mom always had a smile on her face. She was warm and caring. A beautiful person inside and out, who never wanted to worry anyone. If we had family parties in Sacramento, she would be one of the first at the house to help get ready. She would also be the last to leave. Mom would help clean up. In between you could find my mom dancing or chatting with guests. She was never alone. Mom was a people magnet. She was always on the go and never wanted to be bored. Mom was a great parent to my sister and me. She was always on the ball and when it came to school related things. She did community service and supported my sister and me at sports games. I'd share how my mom raised us but it's too hard to explain. Mom taught me how to be strong and do things for my self. The only thing mom's ever told me was that she wanted me to finish school and go to college which I promised I would do. I want to make her proud of me. Because if I don't, she will come from wherever she is resting and make sure I know that she's upset. Even though mom is no longer physically here, we all will carry a part of her wherever life takes us. [ NEXT TRIBUTE ] |
