Ginger
This little cuttie is Ginger.  When she came into the shelter I was volunteering at she was only about 4 weeks old, and very skinny, so me and my mom offered to foster her, as we often did.  We worked with her and pampered her and loved her back to health, which wasn't an easy road for her or us.  Finally after we almost lost her a couple of times, she started gaining weight, and plumped out.  But my dad said "NO MORE!", and he ment it.  Once Ginger was out of danger, he made us take her back to the shelter-one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.  We returned her about a week before Christmas.  Christmas eve she was still there, and me and my mom couldn't bare to let her spend Christmas in a cage at the shelter, so we brought her back home for the holidays.  She's about 4 1/2 months in these pictures(it took that long for her to regain her health!).  I didn't get my digital camera until Christmas, so I don't have any picture before these ones.
Here she is on Christmas morning.  She was still on wet food, and was even when she was returned to the shelter.  We took the canned food we got her on to the shelter, and I made a point out of going there every day during the week and making sure she got her canned food, or she'd get skinny again.  She just wasn't strong enough to eat enough dry to keep her going.
This is Ginger's shelter picture.  It was taken right after me and my mom took her back and posted on thier website for a while.  Ginger had alot of maine coon in her, and she was defianatly a talker!  She loved walking on a leash, and playing fetch...lol  She was more like having a little dog around the house then a cat!
Here she is getting out of bed on Christmas morning.  She got as many presents as the rest of our pets.  We took them all back to the shelter with her and sent them home with her when she got adopted.  Notice the Christmas collar.  I bought an elastic kitten collar and made a cover for it with some leftover Christmas fabric I had.
Here she is enjoying her Christmas Dinner.  We bought her favorite flavor of canned kitten food and gave her as much as she could eat.  Then to top it off we put a couple of her favorite kitten treats on top!
"ENOUGH WITH THE CAMERA ALREADY!!"...lol  Okay, so she was probably getting a little annoyed by now, but I couldn't help myself!  I'm told it's not common for orange cats to be female, so I guess that just made my little Ginger all the more special.
Here she is again.  She looks like she has about had it with pictures and wants go get down and play with Licorice and Teddy.
Here she is one last time.  She loved the tree.  We had a hard time keeping her out of it!  Licorice thought her the tricks, and they made quite the team...lol  If only they hadn't been trying to be so naughty!!
Here's Ginger with my mom.  My mom loved Ginger just as much or more(if that was possible) then I did.  It really broke our hearts when we had to take her back.  If we could have gotten my dad to cave, I would have paid to get her fixed and given her to my mom for Christmas.  That's what my mom really wanted, but my dad refused to let me.
