Though we've not had any prior wedding-planning experience, we both know this is not the normal way weddings are planned. But we're doing our best in our circumstances, with a lot of help from our parents to bring this all together for June 28, 2002. Our big day will start off with the Kanyadaan (giving away the bride). During this ritual, Mugdha's Dad will give her away, asking Lyndon and his family members to accept his daughter and accept her as their own. This will be followed by a court marriage (civil ceremony), in the presence of our families. The Nuptials will conclude the wedding ceremonies. The Nuptials will be held in Our Lady of Salvation Church (Portuguese Church) in Dadar. This is where we will exchange vows and rings. We look forward to meeting our relatives (including our new relatives) at the two receptions we have planned: The first reception will be a western style reception in Dadar, following the nuptials on June 28th, primarily for the guests of the Cerejo family. The traditional Maharastrian reception will be held on June 30th in Thane, primarily for the guests of the Laghate family. |
