Armor for Women
General Pieces of Armor
Squire Ali Al-Hassan from An Tir gave me these...

On the left, a demi gauntlet pattern. (to make the other hand, simply flip the left-most pattern over). On the right, a pattern to make greaves.
The C-Belt
A part that for most women don't get covered well is the pelvis and hips. For maneuverability, the breastplate only goes to the belly button. That leaves the area from the waist to the thighs open.
Some (like me) try chainmail skirting, the roman lorica type skirting, or just hang tassets. I have found a website that seems to solve this problem. I am currently making one for myself (5/17/2005). Unfortunately, it's gone down since I posted it (http://polkawitch.com/main/little/Hipbelt.doc). I've found another that ends with the same result, though. It's a word document download file.

Helmets for Cheap
Helmets can be found everywhere and if you want to pay for it, you can get the kind that won't rust. *grin* But most people starting out in the SCA are of the same kind that I was: a poor student. If cash is tight, but you want a decent looking helm, I would go with one of two armorers:
Truehearth Armory located in Nova Scotia, Canada
Otto's Armory located in Michigan, USA
