Little girls, little boys Running, jumping making noise. Playing in puddles Baking mud pies The smiles the giggles Wonder in their eyes Each child is special In their own way Their talents will payoff In their work someday Hug them and kiss them Tickle their bellies Bring laughter to their faces As you give them wet willies Teach them to love Teach them to care Be sure to let them know That life isn't always fair As you put them to bed At the end of the day Tuck them in tight Chase the monsters away Read them a story Settle their fright Tell them you love them And whisper sleep tight. Laura Yaklin 3/2003 Dedicated to my children Richelle, Arin, and David |
| Little girls grow up so fast Years just seem to fly Time waits for no one As it goes sailing by. Seems like only yesterday She was born into my life Beautiful precious little babe Lots of hair and big blue eyes The greatest love I've ever known Came bursting from my heart My old life and my new Now seemed a million miles apart In just a short while The next thing I knew She wrinkled up her little nose And gave me a big smile The days they came The months they went I was always in awe Of this child heaven sent All too soon Came the first day of school She was so brave I cried like a fool The years have raced by The changes have been many Dances and music, yes make-up too Girls and boys both, her friendships are plenty In another week She'll be turning 15 What the years to come hold Are yet to be seen I know very soon She'll be leaving the nest Hope I've taught her well So she can cope with life's tests Some people may ask Do I have any regrets Would I do it all over My answer is YES! The trust of my daughter The love in her eyes If only they could see They would see why. Laura Yaklin 3/2003 Dedicated to my daughter Richelle |
