No one on the street knows why there are Heep Yunn girls on the streets at 2pm on the 23rd of October. 231003 may seem to be a very ordinary day. However, to all Heep Yunn girls, it was just unique. It was a big day for Heep Yunn as it was its 67th birthday, the Foundation Day.

One of our old girls, Ms Lau, came back to celebrate Heep Yunn’s birthday with us as a guest speaker. Ms Lau was one of the Form Seven graduates in 19??. She said that we should treasure the school campus, as she just couldn’t enjoy such good facilities that we were now having. Even though Ms Lau left Heep Yunn for a long time, Heep Yunn girls in their cheong sams still reminded her of the beautiful memories of school life.

After the Thanksgiving Service, it’s time for fun. Like previous years, the Student Association organized all sorts of games and performances.
The party started with video clips of the Inter-school Swimming Competition, which filled the air with excitement as Ms Dora Yum in the video was announcing the victory of HYS in the A grade swimming competitions. After a few games with sports team captains and club chairpersons as players, the five house captains then performed a short drama on stage, which brought us a lot of joy. Cat Hui of Hok House who acted the Queen Mother and Irina Chan who act as an evil-minded woman of Chung House were given the best commendation. The Queen Mother was showered with compliment as all girls have had a laugh when she came out “elegantly”.

The best and well-known male singer in our school, Mr W. K. Lam, then played the guitar and sang two songs that led the celebration program to its climax. The celebration ended with another thriller, with Mr. Calvin Wong and new teacher Mr. Tong acting scenes from the movie “Infernal Affairs”. They looked so cool that it is no wonder if you find that both of them gained many more fans after this performance!

No matter how crazy the celebration goes, we should always bear in mind that the Foundation Day is a day to thank God for granting us this lovely school.
