Communication has improved over the last few eyars. I really think the lwwa.org web site needs a complete overhaul- it is clumsy to use and could be updated daily with news and bulletins ala a news paper style main page.

2.

Town hall meetings seem to be a waste of time.

3.

Those of us living outside of LWW don't receive the Wildwood Independent until most of the events are over with so it really doesn't do us much good. There must be a way to get this paper to us on time. We get the Penn Valley Courier on time so what's up with the LWW paper?????

4.

The LWW Independent editorials have become too politicised on national issues (not local). We are all overwhelmed by this on Television / other local newspapers.

1. I would like to see some significant improvements in the web site and the blog. For example, I'd like to see a real blog, and not just a mish-mash of comments. The author doesn't appear to be familiar with the typical structure or content of a blog. I'd also like to see an end to the animation on the front page -- it's badly done and distracting. I'd strongly suggest optimizing the performance and design of the website so that it loads more quickly and displays B&P faster. 2. There's a Yahoo group that could be very useful, but no one appears to know about it. Similar groups are used by communities all over the country to keep in touch ans spread information quickly to members who are both local and remote. 3. Use email! Use the website! Use the Yahoo group! Get WiFi going. I would love to bid farewell to my DSL provider.

7.

Board meetings I have attended, in the past, catered to the very vocal majority with specific agendas to get voted on.

8.

If we could, I would like to see us get away from mail (costly) and do most things via email and the internet

9.

Up until now, the general population seemed like they were the last to know anything. The "rumor mill" was better than the "offical notification" from the Association. The General Manager and the Board of Directors were in their own little world.

10.

We just started using the web and gave the office our email address. I'm happy to have this as a communication device.

11.

put bits and Pieces in the Wildwood Independent. Put the website on the gate bulletins - I only learned about it today through the paper!

12.

EVERYTHING NEED TO BE VIA EMAIL

13.

WE do not have Comcast, so we do not receive the LWW channel. This past year, communication has vastly improved.

14.

Our household did not receive a ballot for the last election.

15.

Electronic communication is highly prefered. I do marketing communications, if you need help. ;-)

16.

Whan new state laws are enacted, members should be informed - like for sale signs iin cars...

17.

Love the idea of the computor, but do like the others as well

18.

We need to make agressive changes in our communication processes to take advantage of technology and lower our costs in this area

19.

Considering that many members do not utilize computers, communication is nonetheless very good!

20.

LWW seems to lag behind the rest of the world when it comes to the fastest internet or cell phone communications. We, for example, cannot use a cell phone from our home. We are also limited on how fast an internet service we can get based on location within the community. All of this may be beyond the Board's power but please use your power to encourage the providers of these services.

21.

I'd like more interactive communication without having to attend board meetings

22.

The Lake Wildwood Association web site is essentially a static store of clerical information. It should be extended, or better appended, with dynamic information about coming social and club activities, BOD and EMO activities, TV 95, and so on. It should become like the on-line TWI but with closer ties to each and every club and the movers and shakers of LWW. I should want to read it as much as I read The Union and TWI.

23.

The Board Meeting Minutes that are put on the web site are several months behind. It needs to be kept more current.

24.

a lot of info is available in Bits; but still many people don't pick it up and read it; their complaints should be discounted (if we just knew who they are)

25.

Responses to these questions should have included "somewhat" important or "somewhat" satisfied!!! Would have been more descriptive.

26.

Bits and Pieces is good to read. However, the editor often mixes opinions or just good ideas in with what he presents as LWW rules. For instance each spring he writes about the LWW rules on lot clearing and deadlines, then goes on to say that you MUST clear your lots year around to keep it looking nice, not just at the start of the fire season. While that might be a great idea and a good thing, he makes it sound as if this is a LWW regulation. We are fine with the editor printing his opinions of anything he likes, but when he does, they should be presented as opinions.

27.

Town Hall Meetings are too "public." Dissent is often embarrassing. Surveys such as this one are much more conducive to honest expression. Thank you.

28.

We probably would have no communications if it were not for the above options which we appreciate.

29.

Channel 95 is unimportant to us because we don't watch it. The board meetings should be extremely important. However, almost every board meeting I/we have attended, the board members have their minds previously made up about a particular subject, & the invitation to the membership is just to fill a square. A perfect example, is this latest fiasco over the golf membership dues. Their minds were made up before the information was presented to the members at the meeting. And, who's bright idea was it not to charge for a round of golf after 4PM? The course is still being used, gets the same wear & tear after 4PM. It just allows a person to play earlier and then again after 4PM. In essence you gave that individual unlimited free rounds of golf (if they only paid for 75).

30.

A communication committee should be established by the board.

31.

Time and expenses could be reduced if the internet was used. For the few that don't use it they could have an alternative method provided.

32.

You can cancel my subscription do not believe it is forum for ploitical discourse.

33.

Why is it the Association do not inform its' residents of specific crime incidents? What, when & where?

34.

We think this is a strong point of Lake Wildwood.

35.

Our prior community had a very active group (yahoo) use. In the beginning it was exceptionally useful for distributing information, contractor & help info, community activity photo's, information. Unfortunately it disolved into a bulletin board of petty squabbles that festered and fractured the small community of users. If there is a concerted effort to build a LWW community group/web-site, it will need someone "paid" to manage policy and remove those who abuse.

36.

Those of us with satellite TV do not get channel 95.

37.

no. 94 is a modified unimportant.

38.

I am learning to spend more time on the computer and it's benefits.

39.

Looking forward to positive changes and more open communication with new GM

40.

We watch. We read. We attend. But there are too many times we hear about important business that affects us after the fact or from the grapevine.

41.

I have a PO Box. I do not receive the Wildwood Independant? Why can't it be delivered to my street mail box even though I have a PO Box? Or is there a general pick-up point within LWW?

42.

Some of my answers are not correct and not my true opinion, since the arrows would disappear.

43.

As stated earlier, too much goes on behind closed doors and is not reported in accordance with the laws. Maybe we need our own news channel with libraries which report and track meetings, documents, and calendar, etc available on the internet.

44.

Please keep the Bits and Pieces "On-Line" Service up to date. Sometimes it's days behind.

45.

This is the first time I've had any input, so perhaps I should have answered that last question as satisfied.

46.

A better organized, promoted and managed blog site could be a great source of information. Especially for members to spend to share ideas and information, that isn't necessarily related to the Association.... eg upcoming events in surrounding communities, good movies, etc. The current site is lame, and poorly operated.

47.

recent Bits was one-sided and 6 pages long vs. past double-sided issues, this is not "green"; past President's monthly ltr. was really good info source, hope new BOD continues; don't routinely look at blog site since some stuff has been "whinners" who should be calling LWA office for answers or writing cmttees or board with their concerns

48.

Board meeting need to be early evening so all Association members can participate, 5 or 6 PM.

49.

51.

Problems that have come up at the board meeting like the smells in LWW from the waste treatment plant. What is being done? Is there a solution? How long do we have to smell this?

52.

The communication is there. It is the people who don't read or don't care who will always complain "I didn't know that".

53.

Because of the difficulty for access to board meetings, and because it's hard to get out at night for some of the older residents, we would like to have the board meetings televised on Ch. 95

54.

I feel if you wanted to place and ad in the Bit & Pieces should be free. Especially the yearly yards sale

55.

In my opinion the Wildwood Independent should only be allowed to be disbursed in Lake Wildwood if it is truly independent. There have been instances where matters were not printed because they might offend someone in a position of power in Lake Wildwood.

56.

I don't get channel 95 because I have Direct T.V.

57.

When you try to communicate with the Association, if you do not toe the party line, you are made fun of and criticized. This is expecially true at Board Meeting, Town Hall Meetings and the Blog site.

58.

Electronic communication should be used where ever possible

59.

We believe the current level of communication is excellent and are dismayed that so many members just don't pay attention. We also think there is an opportunity for greatly enhanced two-way communication with an improved web-site. We are pleased to hear that is on the way. We also hear there is a plan to eliminate bits and pieces and do not like that prospect. There are just too many of our members who do not use the computer and who rely on the Bits for their weekly news.

60.

In general, the Association tries very hard to communicate with its membership. Unfortunately, sometimes the membership does not try hard enough to be communicated with. We have heard of the possible movement of our web site to a new facility. We heartily approve of such a move, as soon as reasonable. Further, we encourage an increased reliance upon web site facilities for communication with and between members.

61.

We are new to Lake Wildwood and will reserve our opinion on some of the above until we get better familiar with the runnings of Communications. Thank You

62.

********The communication with members has improved 100% in the last 2 years*******

63.

it appears we don't get and very high attendance at the board meeting, townhall meetings or voting. is it due to poor communication?

64.

Institute very brief info points on key items as required reading with annual assessment statement.

65.

We do not get Channel 95. This is the first time we have used the Web Site. The only e-mails I have received are in connection with golf, except for yesterday's about the Pleasant Valley Pharmacy break-in.

66.

It is so very important that the members feel they are important to the decisions being made. Keep trying!

67.

The websight is a good tool, however, it takes too long for the process of Board meeting information to get on the web. I have yet to find timely minutes there. The process of approval and editing needs to be greatly shortened.

68.

The Wildwood Independent carries too many frivolous columns that have no import and often do not publish committee events satisfactorily.

69.

none

70.

Perhaps with the new GM, we might have better and more willing individuals to participate in the board meetings? I hope.

71.

Could be better. I would like to VIEW all the board meetings and Town Hall Meetings online or via Channel 95. I would like the times of the meetings emailed to me, and if online or TV when they would be available.

72.

As part-timers, we don't have access to meetings, bulletin boards or channel 95. We don't have time to search Bits&Pieces, Blogs or other web sites to see if maybe there is information we need/want.

73.

Great job overall.

74.

regarding CFN gas prices, it is not being updated, sometimes it's over a week before we see a update. Ferrellgas tells us they send the info daily

75.

Certified letter send twice with no response from admin/security

76.

They do a good job of keeping us informed, but the web site could be updated on a more timely manner and more PDF files would make it easier to search and print information.

77.

Wildwood Independent is outdated and needs a new focus. I do not believe political opinions need to be a part of this paper.

78.

I think the Board or the Association sometimes tells you to much information. Such as the Turkeys, Geese, & Deer problems. I recommend not explaining every minute detail about how your greasing geese eggs, or stuff like that. We all know it could upset someone who will problibily make a big fuss & then you won't be able to deal with the problem at all! Don't explain everything about how you are going to the get rid of them, just get it done. Then we will be praising in your success!

79.

I think overall the Association is doing a great job with communication with its members.

80.

I'm all "for" using the internet or Bits&Pieces if it would keep the politics and the Lake Wildwood business OUT OF the Independent! Our public image is damaged a lot by airing all our budget issues, Association problems and especially the Lake issues in a news paper that is distributed all over Penn Valley or beyond! How did that ever get started!? What is the need for that!!? Fix this ASAP!

81.

Would like more improved calendar of events on web site and frequent use of e-mail.

82.

I have Dish. I don't know how to get channel 95

83.

TWI is main source of information, but the lower class mailings cause them to arrive usually a month late.

84.

Even as remote owners we stay fairly informed through the Independent, Bits and Pieces and the website.

85.

Bits and Independent very important to us.

86.

Bits and Pieces is still the best way to reach the community. the LWWA website needs to become more comprehensive.

87.

LWW WiFi access

88.

The gates are good because it is visible. I don't think to go to the web. Do we need both Bits and TWI.

89.

When posted on the bulletin board, it would be nice to know where the general location is of the sighting of the Mountain Lion or bear. Lake Wildwood is a large place and even stating North or South end would be helpful.

90.

Thank you, you keep me well informed.

91.

Threw my kayak in the lake, got out for a swim at hideaway- then a passerby told me about the "algae blooms." After I'd already been in it! A mailer might have been better- there were signs near the parking lot but I didn't drive in...

92.

I would like to see more email since I am a part time resident.

93.

Wish the Wildwood Independent was mailed in a more timely fashion. Tried the blog site awhile ago. Couldn't figure it out. Might be better now.

94.

It would be great if you could send bits and pieces via email. Just checked out the blog - very excited. Thats going to be very informative.

95.

Do not want members not on the internet subsidizing those who want to be. Let each pay his/her own way.

96.

Email Bits ?

97.

Would like to see more email communication and less paper and postage wasted on mailings.

98.

We have always gotten information in a timely manner.

99.

The independent paper is slowly becoming a political rag. ie. Carol Manfrin and others

100.

bits and pieces is very redundant. Perhaps only monthly, then post current issues on the bulletin board at the gate, then if necessary they can get online to look up in more detail info. I love the classified section of Bits and Pieces, keep that going for sure.

101.

We don't get channel 95 with satellite.

102.

Channel 95 not available to those on Dish

103.

Hope to learn & go on-line soon; above comments assume I can, & will find it satisfactory.

104.

Lots more info needed in Bits and Mail! Many do not use computers due to age/ medical conditions.

105.

We have direct TV and can't get channel 95. Bits and Pieces the most important to us.

106.

Prohibit delivery vendors of advertising to have access to LWW

107.

more billboards telling of pool activities. advertise water aerobics in the bits and on the boards

108.

we are part of the 5% in LWW that can't get DSL
