have never been able to participate so answer to #79 should be "no opinion"

2.

keep giving us options! Dont forget some of us still work and cannot attend things in the middle of the day or morning.

3.

none

4.

An exercise room with fitness equipment is much needed.

5.

Not enough experience to form an opinion. I wish "No opinion" was an option here.

6.

I do not use the parks and recreation dept. obviously they don't offer anything that really interests me or at a quality that I would pay to attend. (exercise classes)

7.

Additional picnic tables at the parks would be great. This might be an area where "memorials" could be encouraged?

8.

Please bring back line dancing

9.

I don't stop by to Bits and Pieces box so I rarely if ever know about what's offered. Bits and Pieces should be distributed in the Wildwood Independent - that way I'd at least have an idea what's going on here.

10.

My daughter, as well as other children we know have left summer camp mid-way through the program after being treated poorly.

11.

WHEN is the pool open from May to October???In the 7 years we have lived here, there was one winter season, & we had to beg for another, which was shortened, & never since--in fact, the pool has more problems (Heating, clarity, etc.) than it operates without--so, it needs to be addressed!!

12.

Would like more organized hikes, walks.

13.

will be delightful when the community building is done and more classes can be added

14.

We should be able to offer more services in the new Community Center. Is there planning for these services? How do you get input to know what the community needs / wants?

15.

Q. 79 is really N/A

16.

How can I have an opinion on question 79 when I haven't participated in any of these activities? Please ad a "No Opinion" option in your next survey.

17.

None

18.

Pool should be open all year and we need a good fitness center.

19.

I think this dept. has done a good job considering the limited facilities in the rec. bldg. and the out-dated pool.

20.

The number of trips available seems to have diminished over the past ten years. The bus trips to Sacramento for plays and other activities seem to have been eliminated. As the population of LWW continues to age and the cost of gas continues to be high, some thought might be given to reestablishing such activities.

21.

Don't use any of tha above so---- no overall comment.

22.

Response to Q78 on overall level of satisfaction is neither satisfied, nor dissatisfied or no opinion.

23.

Used to take hikes but quit because they started too late in the day

24.

Would love to see a cardio/weight room in the new facility.

25.

No opinion.

26.

A good variety is offered, but we have not participated.

27.

When the kids are out of school during the summer, there should be "flick & floats" every weekend. There should be teen dances at the rec center, or even the clubhouse. They live here too. We should have a lot more activities for the young residents. That might cut down on some of the problems involving the kids.

28.

swim lessons were cancelled due to smoke on some days - the classes were not made up. Some days classes started late and ended early. We would like exercise equipment in new Commodore park facility.

29.

Don't participate in many, typically older folks activities

30.

I am glad we are finally enlarging the rec center. My yoga class could hardly move in the room we used this year. We need an exercise room (gym) so we could do strength training.

31.

Exercise/fitness classes seem to all occur between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays, which completely excludes those of us who are fully employed.

32.

Need the pool open all year

33.

The first kayak day was truly miserable weather. It should have been cancelled and refunds given.

34.

Due to a couple of surgeries I have been unable to use most of the facilities for the above, but hope to in the very near future.

35.

The new community building will improve the value of all the offered classes and programs!

36.

not very good for our age group

37.

Have not availed ourselves with all the possibilities.

38.

I don't use the services listed in #78 so have "no opinion" on #79. I listed satisfied so I could proceed.

39.

We look forward to participating in such activities when we retire.

40.

ADD MORE SIERRA HIKES AND SNOWSHOEING EVENTS.

41.

Do not use the above programs

42.

As an artist, and a recent struggler at that, I appreciate the ART CLUB, its vast undertaking of putting works of all involved out to the viewers ...in Wildwood, and more recently, even partaking in outside community events. Artists recreate themselves over and over, and no one in this group thinks they are BETTER than anyone else. GO ARTISTS...you are a very special group.

43.

The new recreation facility should have plenty of room to install an equipment exercise room, but the Board and committee have rejected the idea.

44.

Fitness activities lack facilities to provide REAL workouts

45.

doing a good job.

46.

I wish there were more programs for older children. There are a lot of teens around with nothing to do!!

47.

We don't use the classes, so we have no opinion and no complaints. The parks, tennis courts, pool, and general areas are well-maintained. These folks seem to do a good job.

48.

We haven't lived in LWW since 2001.

49.

Hopefully after the expansion there will be a lot more choices when it comes to exercise classes! We need a full gym with real equipment and people to show you how to use it! We also need some type of place for the kids like fitness programs! I think the children of our community need a place to ride scooters and skateboards, maybe designate a park just for that purpose so that security doesn't have to hassle our children for playing outside under parental supervision!

50.

Need more Bocce Courts

51.

We were never welcomed by any "welcome group" to get involved. Individuals invited us to play tennis and bridge but no welcome wagon or anything of that nature.

52.

I have been impressed with the recent amount of hikes geared towards active-lifestyle people. Examples include the lake hikes around Donner Summit area. I had looked forward to attending these, but I have been sidelined on both trips I was interested in (not LWW's fault). I would like to see more opportunities for young-to-middle aged adults such as these. Unfortunately, I hesitate to participate in most activities due to my perception of big age demographic differences and abilities. It would be nice to meet others interested in active and healthy lifestyles (fitness, hiking, etc.) Unfortunately, I believe the general perception of this community and the public at-large is LWW is mainly a retirement community. I think there is many more young families in here that would look forward to meeting like-minded folks in a low-key, recreational setting. I admired Grace Sullivan for the time and effort she spent working towards meeting these goals. I hope the person who takes over for her is as dedicated and polite as she was.

53.

the children need more thing to do like a skate park.

54.

no opinion on this one...but the survey made me answer in a different way

55.

given the past facility that Rec has had to deal with, it's done good job; looking forwared to new building, should provide even better venue for current programs as well as some new ones (hopefully, especially for retirees!)

56.

From what I have read in the Independent there are a lot of good activities for those that would like to join. I am forced to choose an answer that I do not agree.

57.

I really wish that we were able to walk our dog in the parks and of course pick up their waste. I am physically handicapped and am unable to walk on the streets in LWW as it is not safe due to cars and golf carts

swim classes for children are great!!!

61.

No opinion. Have not used any of the services.

62.

wpuld like more classes offered for bridge of all levels. Also, it would be nice to have bus trips to various events, e.g., plays in Sacramento or trips to Reno.

63.

Once again - pool related issues dominate my assessment. ALTHOUGH, exercise classes I have taken have been uniformly very good.

64.

With more retirees here, more programs should be available e.g. trips and special events, special golf lessons for seniors, etc.

65.

We haven't been able to take as many classes as we would when our children get older but we love the variety that is offered. We regularly use the Children's Friday story/craft hour and hope to see it continue. It has brought so many families together here-those I have met we plan other activities at the pool and the parks and other events to do together. We also love the Halloween and Easter and other holiday events that LWW has available to families.

66.

Exercise classes are too expensive & held too early in the day.

67.

We sure miss Grace and hope that we will have as active and involved a replacement

68.

Would like more trips and special events (trips to Sacramento to see plays, musicals, etc)

69.

We are new to Lake Wildwood and will reserve our opinion on some of the above until we get better familiar with the runnings of Lake Wildwood. Thank You

70.

Need Exercise equipment.

71.

Year-round pool operations should be available for a substantial fee.

72.

jThe cooking classes at the Club seem pretty expensive. The other things are more affordable.

73.

I would like to see more things offered in the evening or on weekends for those households that have working members. I guess this survey will tell us more about LWW's current demographics.

74.

The high turnover in the position of Recreation Director has resulted in a not very satisfactory running of the Recreation Department.

75.

I would like a year round pool for swimming and recreation.

76.

I would like to see as I stated before year round swimming and water exercise classes.

77.

What cooking class?? We didn't get the memo... Were the dance classes on the same memo???

78.

At our age our experience is limited, but overheard comments are generally very satisfactory.

79.

Individuals utilizing the pool should pay their fare share of the expenses to maintain the pool just like all other amenity users are required.

80.

Longer swim season, please

81.

No activities for the working individuals. All activities are scheduled for retired people.

82.

Other than the remodeling of the marina building, there was little disruption of classes.

83.

It would be a nice addition to have excercise equipment available in our new facility.

84.

Youth camps and programs should be geared towards working people. There were always people waiting to drop their kids off in the morning. Need extended hours. Would like to see some core fitness classes with times for working people.

85.

We need more activities for young people, although they often don't want to participate in any organized activity.

86.

Youth camps are "cramped". The counselors do a fine job given the circumstances, but too many kids in tight quarters. I would like to see a drama class offered for children....perhaps a drama summer camp for kids 8-12, something like that. I'd love a REAL gym! Something like Sun City....the classes offered are geared to older people. I'd like us to offer more classes comparable to Sun City.

87.

Not enough classes offered in the evenings or weekends for those of us who work F/T M-F.

88.

I think the pool programs should be a priority as it is a well attended program. Sometimes the Parks and Recreation Department seems to overlook how important the maintenance of the pool and its programs are the community.

89.

none

90.

Lack of a decent exercise facility which is apparently being taken care of in the upgrading of the recreation center

91.

Since we are paying for a pool, why can't it be operated additional months. I pay 45.00 to drive to GV to swim and I'm still paying for the association fees.

92.

I wish we had a travel club that planned group trips, cruises for example.

93.

I don't know enough about these. I gave up on most activities because the sign up is not user friendly. You really need to be full time at home to make these work well for your schedule.

94.

There are few opportunities for youth, not even a basketball court. The one basket, on a very small concrete slab, has been broken for years.

95.

Please consider putting mirrors in the new exercise facility so one can see if they are doing the movement correctly.

96.

would like more bridges lessons offered. would like art lessons offered

97.

98.

cannot participate in anything because the activities are scheduled during my work hours

99.

year round pool activities. would like workout equipment available and more active classes for the more active adult.

100.

We didn't attend any of these classes....but we feel that they offer a good variety of classes. However, a couple of years ago LWW purchased a cover for the pool so it could be used in the cooler weather. Why are we not using that cover so we can swim past Oct.??

101.

Need bus trips to Sac. or other places for theater , recreation activities during the day.

102.

I feel that more family centered activities are a key element to cohesive and productive empowerment for LWW youth and families. Reevaluation of the services and activities offered to families is congruent with enhanced quality of life withing LWW will decrease vacancies and increase the potential for longterm renters to become owners and spawn generational roots within our community.

103.

We will begin to participate with youth programs in the next few hours, but most exercise classes and recreation events are scheduled during the day, when my husband and I are both at work, making it impossible to participate. More evening classes would be nice.

104.

Would love to have more exercise classes for more active seniors - Pilates and Zumba

105.

Question 3 79 should have a no opinion option

106.

Keep Yoga & Tai Chi in the Activities! And keep the "free books" section! Love the organized group hikes!!

107.

not currently participating in these activities, but welcome the opportunity that is available if I so desire

108.

We are not full time residents but when we are we will take advantage of these services.

109.

Line dancing and/or square dance classes would be fun and good exercize.

110.

Would like to see the pool open year round and longer hours for adults only

111.

there was a brief experiment for classes in learning foreign languages. I would hope this is going to continue and branch out to more languages

112.

The Rec Dir position is 1 that seems to turn over fairly often. Seems that this would be hard to keep continuity in the department.

113.

Most services are geared toward the retired. There really are alot of younger people/families here.....I may be the only one that has time to take this survey....but we are still here!

114.

These guys do a great job!

115.

We cannot always cater to the older set. I know at 53 years old, that's not young, but as someone who's worked out consistently over 25 years, the classes are simply not challenging to me. Please consider getting some more challenging type classes (e.g., "Zumba", step aerobics, running groups, bicycling, etc., etc.). The Wildwood Gym (across the street) is very limited in what they offer, so it's not like I can go there either.

116.

I thought Grace Sullivan did a terrific job as Rec director. My son enjoyed working for her very much. Although we do not take advantage of all the classes and events offered by the rec dept. our family is happy with the services. We have always loved the Easter Egg hunt and are happy that trick or treating is continuing in LWW. The highlight of our year as LWW residents is 4th of July. We love going to the park for all the events and look forward to the firework display. We did not think that the display this year was as good in years past, however.

117.

Do you offer tennis lessons? Maybe I just haven't noticed.

118.

As a part time resident I am unable to take advantage of the social and recreational activities at Lake Wildwood. I look forward to the time when I will be a full time resident.

119.

More evening exercise/yoga classes

120.

More activites for school age kids during the summer and vacations would be nice.

121.

There are very few dance, Exercise, fitness, walking groups, etc. available after 5pm. The adults in our household work. Are there any working parents on the recreation board? I signed my daughter up late for swimming lesson and was told I had to drop off my registration between 1-3pm on a Wednesday. I work in GV and had to take my lunch hour to drive back to LWW during that time. That was very inconvenient. It seems like most activities and even communication is more senior/retiree focused. Even in the Bits and Pieces, the article on the emergency response team said something like - "they are your golf buddy, your tennis partner or even play bridge with you" How about "your fellow soccer mom, disc golf buddy or your kid's baseball coach".

122.

Would enjoy more adult activities or classes

123.

Thanks for the hard-work!

124.

A place for dogs to swim and play ball would be nice.

125.

Did not see the need to develop Hidaway Park with so many "high" mounds. Does not look natural. Need only one toilet building per park. More is a waste of money!

126.

The first time I attended a yoga class I was told it was no longer meeting due to construction. I realize that this is a temporary situation. It would be nice to see more exercise classes for weekend only residents.

127.

There is not one mention above of the work they need to do with the parks???? All of the above are activities. They do all kinds of other stuff at the parks.

128.

There need to be more activities and classes for teens and families with teens. There should be a teen representative on the recreation committee. There needs to be bicycle/non motorized scooter paths. We have such strick rules regarding skate boards and scooters that our teens really have very little they can do and then we wonder why they release their energy through vandalism and mischief.

129.

Would like to see more exercise class (ie )arobic classes in the afternoons.

130.

Had no opinion on anything listed in #78, therefore did not have a justifiable answer for #79.

131.

more hickes ?

132.

Very low profile. Not much news or notification of events.

133.

Not many organized trips planned for seniors

134.

Need new lawns and plantings.

135.

I would like to see more winter and summer events outside of Lake Wildwood. Like Hikes, Snowshoeing, Casino trips, trips to Sacracment to see plays, etc.

136.

As full-time employed people, we don't seem to have time to join clubs or classes. Also, there have been functions we could be interested in, but they are offered during daytime hours only. Question 79 required an answer and I put satisfied; however, in Question 78 I had no opinion. I should have had that option in Question 79.

137.

I do not participate in any of these activities, hence my overall satifaction should be "No Opinion". However there is no category offered for that so given my knowledge of what other people experience in these activities I rated this are Satisfied.

138.

A teen day in summertime would be great and an after school program for elementary kids.

139.

Commodore Park needs better exit, handicap entry lighting.

140.

satisfied with TTT, Car Show, Computer Club

141.

do not use these serves

142.

bus trips to interesting places should happen

143.

Bocce ball is wonderful- can do as a single

144.

Need for 3 times a week YOGA classes.

145.

we have had four directors in the past eight years. not good for the programs. water exercise season too little
