and By-Laws
Lake Wildwood Men’s Nine Hole Golf Club
[Effective January 1, 2008]
Article I-Name
The
name of the club shall be Lake Wildwood Men’s Nine Hole Golf Club. The
terms “Men’s Niners” and “the club” where used in these By-Laws substitute for
the formal title. LWW means Lake Wildwood.
Article II-Purpose
1 To
participate in and improve the game of golf
2 To
promote the rules and etiquette of golf.
3 To
promote tournaments within the club.
Article III-Membership
Section
1 Any adult male member of the Lake Wildwood Association is eligible for
membership. New members will be provided a name tag at club expense, on a one
time only basis.
Section
2 Concurrent membership in the LWW Men's Club and the LWW Men's Nine Hole
Club is permitted by LWW regulations.
Section 3 Participation in club
tournaments requires making a tee time reservation. Use of the LWW computerized
tee time sysem is encouraged for all play.
Article IV-Dues
Section
1. Annual dues are determined by the Executive Board and shall be approved
by a majority vote of a quorum at a general meeting.
Section 2. The membership year is defined
as January 1st, through and including December 31st. Dues shall be paid
annually in the amount determined in Section 1, above. A $10.00 reinstatement
fee shall be imposed upon any current member whose dues are not received in
their entirety by December 31st of each year. Dues are nonrefundable.
Section
3. The fee for new members, or former members who wish to rejoin, may be
prorated as follows:
JAN
1 to MAR 31, full fee APR 1 to JUN
30, 3/4 fee
JUL 1 to SEP 30, 1/2 fee OCT 1 to DEC 31, 1/4 fee
A
$10.00 reinstatement fee shall be imposed upon former members (defined as those
who have been members at any time within the past two years).
Section 4 Members not maintaining
continuous membership shall be:
1) Removed from the club’s tee time list in
the LWW Tee Time computer
2) Removed from the club’s current handicap list
3) Reinstatement will require establishment
of a new handicap in accordance with Article VII below. Note: These
requirements will be imposed at the discretion of the Membership and Handicap
chairmen.
Section 5 A member in good standing who
wishes for any reason to renew for only a part of a year may do so, provided
that he pay a minimum of two quarter’s prorated dues. Should he subsequently
desire to continue his membership beyond the partial period, he must pay a
$10.00 reinstatement fee.
Article V-Meetings
Section
1 There shall be at least one general meeting of the membership each year.
The date and location shall be determined by the Executive Board.
Section
2 Other meetings may be called at the discretion of the Captain or a
majority of the Executive Board.

3 A quorum shall consist of 25% of the general membership.
Article VI-Executive Board and Committees
Section
1 There shall be an Executive
Board composed of a) Captain, b) Co-captain, c) Secretary, d) Treasurer, e)
Membership Chairman, f) Handicap Chairman, g) Tournament Chairman h) Publicity
Chairman and i) Golf Committee Representative. The Executive Board shall serve
from Jan. 1, through Dec. 31.
Section 2 Meetings of the Executive Board
shall be called at the discretion of
the Captain. A quorum shall be five members. Two or more chairmanships
may be filled by one person. In this situation a quorum shall be the next
higher number than half the number of persons on the Executive Committee.
Section
3 The Executive Board, with a 2/3 affirmative vote of those present, may
abrogate these By-Laws to meet unexpected or unusual circumstances. In such
cases, the Executive Board shall, within a reasonable time propose to the Membership
a change of the By-Laws which will remedy the situation.

4 Standing committee chairs shall be appointed by the captain.

Section
5 The Captain may from time to time appoint such functional committees as
he deems necessary. Members of such committees shall serve at the discretion of
the Captain.
Section
1 New members who have a recognized handicap may transfer that handicap,
adjusted for nine hole play, upon presentation of a valid handicap card.
Section
2 Five scorecards of nine hole
games played on the Lake Wildwood course are required to establish a temporary
handicap. A permanent handicap is established after twenty 9 hole games have been
recorded. Scorecards shall be signed by the player, dated and attested by a
member who has a valid handicap, and submitted to the Handicap Chairman.
Section
3 New members without an established handicap may play in regular play but
are prohibited from competing in tournament play until a temporary handicap has
been established as above.
Section
4 Handicaps will be computed using NCGA rules. All LWW 9 hole
rounds must be entered in the club's
handicap computer system, except as determined by the Tournament Chairman.
Section 1 The Club’s treasury shall
be maintained in a FDIC insured bank account. The club’s treasurer shall be the
primary custodian of said account. The elected Captain shall be an authorized
signatory. The account shall specify “or” as between authorized signatories.
The captain must inform the treasurer of any expenditures he makes.
Section
2 The treasurer, in consultation with the Executive Committee, shall
prepare the annual budget for the club year, Jan. 1, through Dec. 31.
Section
3 The budget may be implemented by the Executive committee. A 2/3 vote of
Committee members present is required. Should said vote be lacking, the budget
must be submitted to the general membership for approval.
Section
1 Nomination and election of officers will take place at a general meeting.
Section
2 Nominations for the Executive Board will be made by the Nominating
Committee. Nominations may also be made from the floor.
Section
3 Officers of the club shall be those named as members of the Executive
Board.
Section
1 Amendments to these By-Laws shall be presented in writing, and read at a
meeting of the general membership.
Section
2 Proposed amendments shall be posted for a period of at least two weeks
prior to a vote of the general membership.
Section
3 Amendments shall be adopted by a majority vote of the quorum present of
the general membership.
The
Secretary and Membership Chairman shall prepare and distribute the club roster
in January of each year. The roster shall include the golf calendar for the new
year.

These By Laws incorporate all amendments approved by vote of the
membership and are certified current as of January 1, 2008.
